Big Johns is not a bad place at all. The place has its highs and lows. You need to figure out what’s good and what’s not.
We arrived there and the place is somewhat busy. It can be cleaner and the food is already prepared. Some of it is fresh. Families do come in.
The donair kebab and chicken kebab is where it’s the best. That’s what’s going to take time. It’s absolutely delicious. The picture I posted doesn’t give it justice. It’s packed with meat and some lettuce/onions. Get a bit of their hot sauce.
The fries are good and do not come seasoned. That’s a good thing as seasoning to your taste is better. The chicken sandwich is good. The fried chicken seemed to be a bit greasy. Didn’t try the pizza.
Come take a look. You won’t be disappointed. Think about the place you’re at. You’re not going to a high end restaurant. This is a greasy spoon kinda place.
ordered my kebab from here I was really looking forward to it. I left a note asking for extra salad. An extra sauce.
When the kebab came, it was cold there was about two tomatoes, a couple slices of cucumber and not much lettuce .
I had to reheat the kebab and add more salad to make it look more presentable. I know it’s cost of living, but surely they’re not going to go bankrupt on putting a decent amount of salad in. the picture are what l added after
The fish was quite big and rightly so at those prices! Its probably so expensive because it's a chain and there's a drive through. The lady on the counter was very friendly and bubbly and she should be promoted or in line for the next position. This is what's missing in most places customer service especially because of the Pandemic. Try the fish and you can justify if the price is right or not.
I've been here a few times for the all important lunch and have tried the following on separate occasions. Peri Peri Chicken Fillet Burger, Cheeseburger, Chicken Wings, Potato Wedges, Chicken Kebab & Chips and 2 piece chicken and chips. They've all been decent a tad on the expensive side. The potato wedges are not readily available at times and have only had them on 2-3 occasions. There are cheaper places on the high street.
Can’t really answer on the atmosphere as we used the drive thru, but the food just hit right, it’s been a longtime since I’ve had takeaway and big John’s was a safe choice due to previous visits. Ordered the half a chicken thigh with hot and spicy flavour and Lord it was succulent and flavoured right
Food was fresh some odd chips were bit black other than that restaurant was clean and quite for a Sunday evening prices have creeped up. Car park could bit more clean. Access foe disabled people and ladies with prams.
I absolutely love Big John's, outstanding value for money, the burgers and pizzas are my favourite and always made fresh to order in front of you.
Also the food is very well presented and packaged in smart looking BJ branded boxes.
I paid less than £10 for two double cheese burger meals with chips and drinks. You'd pay nearly double that for same amount of food in McDonald's and their burger patties are wafer thin unlike Big John's!
The only negative thing is that they charge 50p for small pots of sauce while other branches of Big John's don't.

Good food, tasty, and good portion size. Took a while to make though for a fast food place.
Honestly food was nice , give Four stars because it says drive through but only for placing orders then you have to wait in parking and they took so long to deliver…
