Lovely pub . Great beer garden to the front with nice well kept seating area and umbrellas to keep off the sun or rain. Dog friendly in doors and out.
Friendly staff and a good range of beers and lagers etc. What makes it stand out is the food. Good value and excellent quality really couldn't fault what we had and happy to recommend. Best meal we had while visiting North Norfolk.
To sum up highly recommend you pop in for a chilled drink or a cracking meal.
Just had a great evening and meal at the Village Inn. I had Prawn Cocktail, fabulous and Fish and Chips. It was beautiful and very large. My wife had breaded Brie and Fish Pie, both delicious. Great service great atmosphere, only problem is we cannot return until next year when the caravan park opens. So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!. See you in March!
Delicious food available here. We came in for an early dinner on the weekend and sat in the garden. It was very lovely out there, great vibe.
Food is a level above most pubs in the area and decent portions, but the food service was achingly slow.
Used to come here 20 years ago, so gave it a visit on a day trip to West Runton recently. I gather it has changed ownership recently which was always a common occurence.
All I can say is that as of Summer 2023, food is fantastic. The antipasti starter we shared was especially high quality, everything fresh and delicious and beautiful to look at to boot.
The building itself is as lovely as it as always been, an old tudor or tudor style building in a lovely little village.
Waitress service in the resteraunt area of the pub was excellent too.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing. We had the ribs and everything on the plate was delicious. It was the little loving touches which made it all the more special, like the onion flakes on the slaw or the sprinkle of paprika on the corn or the sesame seeds/chilli/spring onions on top of the ribs. And the chips were really good too. The coffee was also nice and strong. We left absolutely stuffed!
Second visit recently and must say it has improved considerably. Excellent meals and reasonably priced. Nice pub with good food, just what we need in the village, let's hope it stays that way.

Stopped here a week ago for a quick pint after a dog walk in the rain. 3 pints later was still there ( rained hard). Lovely camden lager staff was very accommodating. Didn't eat, but food looked very nice what i see going out to the tables. Also much improvement from when i was last in there last year. Definitely want to go back to eat
If you enjoy good food at home, eating out has to be special.
Great choice of dishes here, all well prepared and reasonable prices too.
Landed in this part of the world during a heatwave so it soon filled up with holiday makers.
Service was prompt and cheerful so the team are clearly well organised.

Nice burger, horrible scotch egg! Lovely garden great for dogs. Better to stop here than the bun fight in Sheringham!
