Cafe Rouge

Great food and a very nice place It didn't start off to good. There was hardly any customers in so we were told to go and sit anywhere we liked. On doing so nobody waited on us for 5 minutes so i went and got my own menu, a waiter then come over and said it was table service with a bit of attitude in his voice, so i said if it was table service i wouldn't of had to get my own menu. From then on service got better.

When ever I have a meeting i the area, i come here. the food and the drinks are reliable and consistent. The service is hit and miss, most times its good but sometimes it lacks any sort of attention. The last time I was there in the restaurant seated, I waited for 20 minutes to have my order taken (they weren't busy, I think I was being ignored, NOT good) This said it is a nice place with out side seating and a good vista.

This place has a great review of the lake at Lakeside which on a sunny day on the boardwalk gives a great atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. Our waiter was very friendly attentive and ready to help all you would expect from good customer service. We ordered steak and chips the beef bourguignon it's arrived quickly well served and although I had to send a steak back to be cooked a bit more the food here was very good. We even used our Tesco vouchers this time which meant it proved to be cheap as chips. I've been to many restaurants in this chain but just with the customer service along with the location of the restaurant I think this has to be the best. Great place to relax after a hard day shopping at lakeside or just a drop into If You Live Locally.
