Gluten free options - grilled fish, unsure about chips.
Grilled sea bream was delicious, quite oily but the fish taste and texture was perfect.
Great chips, crispier outer texture Vs traditional fish and chip shop chips.

Excellent food and great service. The amazing thing is that they use different oil for their chips and meat products which is good if you have dietary requirements. The prices are reasonable for what you get and huge portions. Will definitely go again if I'm in the area

Easily the best fish & chips in Southend. I just had a grilled fish Burger and it was the best, freshest fish burger I’ve had in a very long time! The staff are friendly, 100% recommend!

I went there with my family late afternoon on a Thursday. It changed owner a few weeks ago. The service was brilliant, the fish and chips were lovely. The batter was really crispy and the chips great! We would definitely return.

Use to eat in here all the time but then it changed hands and we wasnt sure if the same quality would stay the same. Been in over the weekend and to be honest it actually seems better the chips are spot on now and they still do my fav chicken wraps, my son had the chicken nuggets which seem to be home made! Great taste great service glad alexs is still the best chippy in southend.

Orders are always delivered on-time or early. Packagaing is a really sturdy paper/card material rather than polystyrene... Super impressed!! Really decent chips and the JD burger and chicken burger are now our absolute favourite burgers in Southend. Brilliant local chippy that will have my repeat custom!

Popped in for a spot of lunch. The owner was very interested in talking with me as I own a local business and was helpful with helping me choose what i wanted for lunch. In the end i settled on a simple chips and curry sauce and i must say one of if not the best chips and curry sauce I have ever tried. My order was cooked fresh in front of me so chips where hot and crispy with a lovely soft fluffy center and as for the curry sauce, AMAZING! Will be returning to try other items. Thanks Alex.

This fish and chip restaurant stands out from the moment you see it- smart and classy decor with every detail co-ordinated but nothing OTT. Very very clean and plenty of staff. The food tasted good and portion sizes were just right- it was nice not to be over faced with too many chips. I’d really recommend Alex’s Fish and Chips place for a nice all round experience.
