I have eaten here twice recently (including yesterday) the setting on the green on a Saturday afternoon being the perfect way to chill. The food is spot on, beautifully presented and perfectly balanced flavours - I have had the breakfast and the home made ale pie. As for the haddock topped with a free range egg - exquisite .

Sampled the Sunday lunch carvery. Large selection of accompaniments. Inside was a bit dark as one of the lights was not working, but I like a dark pub. The desert was excellent - probably one of the best sticky toffee puddings I’ve had for some time. The beer was from Adnams - go for an Old Ale in the winter.

An interesting place, from outside it looks vast, inside, it feels tiny. Like an inverted Tardis, however one huge part is a hotel, I've no idea about the rest. Anyway, the pub bit was lovely and old, the staff were great, the menu offered a nice range of lunches, and the food when it came was well cooked, presented and very tasty.

Great freshly cooked meal. We had the good fortune to go to The Grasshopper Pub recently. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The Manager was very friendly and helpful and at the request of one of our party was happy to show us around the hotel rooms. They were absolutely delightful and had been well thought out. The honeymoon suite was a delight. Looking forward to returning.

Nice cosy little Inn on the A25 where not much else is about. I used to go here when studying and they were always very accommodating by allowing me to use the restaurant when it was closed to spread books out and revise. Went there recently, still got a lovely welcome and they allow dogs. Their bar menu is good with amazing cheesy chips. Just for info: I have not stayed overnight here, but as a pub review its 5 stars.

I had a lovely stay at The Grasshopper Inn on Monday evening, the staff were very helpful on check in and helped us to our room. The evening meal was absolutely delicious, we sat by a roaring fire and got on with work and the service was impeccable. The room (Parr) was very comfortable, peaceful and the shower was enormous and brilliant. Breakfast equally was on perfect. Thank you to The Grass hopper. Brilliant for a nights stay and would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Many Thanks -

Just popped in for a drink but there was some confusion about when alcohol could be served. One staff member was happy to serve whilst another said that alcohol can only be served after 12pm. Ordered non-alcoholic drinks which were very nice and a decent price.

Large, but still friendly and romantic. Good service and good food. Quite a wide and unusual selection of drinks. There is a bar area. So important! Large outside seating area, although right next to a busy road. Recommend a visit

Very friendly and helpful staff. Check-in was easy and the rooms are amazing, clean, full of character. Don't be fooled, the old building/ rooms still have the modern appliances such as flat screen tv, tea/coffee making facilities, iron, bean bags! The bar is lovely, open fires roaring making it feel cozy, big old wooden beams, cask ales, original and tasteful decor that compliments the age of the building. The food was perfect, full of taste and heat warming and cooked to perfection. Overall I love this hotel/inn, bar and restaurant. Would defiantly come back when I'm in the area again.

Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. There is an incredible breakfast, lunch and dinner menu; I ate the second best burger I've had my whole life there, easily. Warm, comfortable rooms that create a luxurious and relaxing stay. I'll be back.
