Last here 5 years ago and not disappointed. Outside the thatched roof has been redone and the interior has been updated creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Friendly welcome from all the staff and a good variety of food to choose from on the Menu.
We had Rump steak and Shoulder of lamb cooked in the Bertha (charcoal oven) - very tasty!
Cool cookie Sundae was my wife’s choice for dessert, whilst I had my first Afogato - interesting but maybe I should have gone for the Artisan cheeses instead!
Overall very impressed with the quality of the food and service, all at a reasonable price.
Hope not to leave it another 5 years until we return!
My family and I have always gone to the chequers for the past 5 years for birthday celebrations! Never ever had a bad meal! It is always top notch! Highly recommend!
Had a lovely dinner here when the Friday traffic was too much! Dropped in without booking looking for a good meal and had a great break off the road with a lovely view. Doggy friendly too which was great as we were travelling with our pooch! Service had a smile too. Recommend!
Land Lord & Lady are perfect hosts which reflects the perfect meal for a weary traveller. Will definitely stop in again.
A really good meal in a lovely location!
It was a hot Easter bank holiday, so we thought we'd cycle to a country pub for an early evening meal. The Chequers was well reviewed so we had high hopes: rest assured we were not disappointed when we arrived. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the real ale choice was limited but the Gales Seafarers and Fullers London Pride were both solidly quaffable. The starters and mains were all of a high standard yet reasonably priced. I will happily come back and am equally happy to recommend this place to you.
Beautiful well maintained old public house. Staff and management are very helpful. Great food and atmosphere, lots of outdoor seating with a large carpark, set in a beautiful location. If you own a Campervan or Motorhome, dine in, then you can park for the night free. Enjoy, we will be back!
Perfectly cooked beef with a perfectly poured Guinness! 👌What more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely recommended.
Pub was a bit chilly but food was nice. Glad to see two vegetarian options on the Sunday lunch menu so I didn’t have to eat the dreaded nut roast that is normally the only option everywhere! Really lovely veggie Wellington, and every other plate of food that my family ordered looked great.
Drinks were a bit slow and had to go up to bar to order our own as servers taking too long to come to table.
Lots of dogs in the pub but they were well behaved and though it was a bit chilly, there were blankets in a corner with a “please borrow one” sign. Waiters and bar man were all nice.
Treat yourself if you are hungry or thirsty call in at The Chequers at Weston On The Green, all of the meals that I have had there have been excellent. Either meat or fish, I've never been disappointed. Friendly staff, the pub is spotlessly clean.
Had Sunday lunch, the roast beef was very good the Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and veg were all great as well. The pub is very pretty and the staff were efficient and friendly. I would definitely eat there again and recommend it.
Absolutely amazing!
If you are either staying, visiting, live local etc etc you need to try this pub!
A lovely welcoming atmosphere, Dog friendly, the food was gorgeous and OMG the Pub owners (Mr&Mrs) are/ were the best (such genuinely lovely people)!!
I absolutely love this place - I would be in every night if I was not passing through!
Thank you for such a lovely evening in your pub - I will definitely be back :)
Simply simply lovely! What a great place to eat and drink.
If you're in the neighbourhood, do NOT skip this.
