Second visit to the quarry. Lovely relaxing place to soak up nature and enjoy refreshments from café.. (lots of choice from vegan to home made cakes, coffee to soft drinks, friendly staff, reasonably priced and plenty of seating) there is also a gift shop and art gallery where you can purchase lovely unique gifts, sculptures, paintings and even plants for your garden. Tip: Take a camera and binoculars to enjoy the experience.
Fantastic place to go on a sunny day to sit out in the sunshine and watch peregrine falcons and other birds flying around and you may even see their Fox. disabled toilet Good Food and a nice place to socially visit
What a delightful place! Delicious home made fare, friendly service, and an afternoon suntrap. All rather magical actually.
Great venue, great food, with friendly and pleasant staff, we always enjoy coming here, well recommended.
What a find! Really beautiful spot hidden in an old quarry, in the heart of a nature reserve - home made cakes
- art exhibits
- on site parking
- even a semi tame fox called Sam
So glad we were too late to visit Dr fox's so tried this gem instead.
Such a unexpected surprise to come across this wonderful little place. Very good value. The tea was real leaves and so good. I have homemade Victoria sponge, it was delicious. The safe were fabulous. So friendly.
Lovely tea rooms nestled in an old quarry. Very tasty and fresh food and great fair trade coffee among other beverages. I had the vegan nut cutlet and soda bread plus huge salad, husband loved the cheese and chive scone, brie, grapes and cranberries- high quality food. Friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating, artist studios all around. Car parking in the grounds of on the street outside. Resident fox on the grounds, subject of a book. Well worth a visit!

Took an exceptionally long time to get served. From arrival to completing my transaction was around 20mins. There was only 2 people in front of me. They operate a format of one ticket pad for kitchen orders and one ticket pad for non kitchen orders - this process didn't expedite any items whatsoever so seems a little arbitrary.
Took a long time for my order to arrive to my table. I ordered a latte and a slice of cake. Cannot fault either item but it seems the orders in the kitchen are made to order and everything is done in order of purchase. It took around 15 to 20 minutes for the cake and coffee to arrive.
So in total, it was nearly 40mins just waiting to be served.
Would I go back? Yes definitely - just not at a time when I have other things planned.
It was amazing. Lovely people, lovely food and a stunning view!
Lovely scone and pot of tea. Nice and quite with lots of birds twittering. Peaceful and tranquil. Cheerful serving staff. Will definitely be going back 😊
