What a great night this was. 'Gin and Jazz'. Music was fabulous. The nibbles superb and served at your table by very friendly staff. Wish I hadn't eaten beforehand! Great value for money. We had 4 gins/cocktails. 3 of them in with the price. Place was busy so had a lovely atmosphere. When's the next one, Kenny??

My wife and I dined there last night. As cosy and charming inside as it is quirky on the outside, we loved the whole experience. Lindsay and her FoH staff were friendly and welcoming, the menu was mouthwatering and the food didn't disappoint. We're looking for a chance to go back!

Went to fantails for my daughters graduation meal . The food was lovely and very good value for money. The staff couldn’t of been more helpful and very pleasant. The cocktails went down a treat too . Chloe did a fantastic job making us a Kingston T xx will definitely be back soon for more food and cocktails.

The restaurant has a country feel which i loved. I had the venison to start which was lovely (the haggis ball in it was the best haggis i have ever tasted), roast beef dinner which was tasty with plenty of veg and Nutella cheescake which was nice to finish a lovely meal off with. Staff were all polite. Will be back in near future.

Loved the haggis scotch egg starter and the beef sporran - Beef Wellington with haggis - was superb. The only disappointment was that I was too full to have a pudding!

🙏🐟🦀🦞A huge thank you to everyone for attending the meet the fishmonger event at Fantails restaurant last night. It was an evening of excellent food (the best fish north of lands end), amazing hospitality from Kenny & the team, world-class fish chat, banter and outstanding heckling. 🤣 Not mentioning any names😅. The Codfather was in his element 4 pints in and ready for action & entertainment.🦐🔥😜(although he didn't know the story behind the name of Monkfish) There are a few origin stories, one being that Monks used to head down to the boats/markets and ask for unused fish to eat or take. Hence the name Monkfish. 😊 We will, be looking to do something very similar again in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled. Bells Fishmongers get the quality, service & evenings of entertainment you deserve.

A nice pub with a good selection of food (including vegetarian options) and drinks (check out their cocktail menu!). The staff were friendly and our orders arrived promptly. The pub has a lively, pleasant atmosphere, but we found the food a little underwhelming for the price. The cheese soufflée starter was very heavy (more like a pie) and the main had a nicely cooked fish but absolutely tasteless sides and a runny sauce that overpowered the entire dish. Would definitely come back for drinks and stacks, but probably go elsewhere for a nicer dinner.

Into Fantails Restaurant and Bar for dinner which is located in Wetheral village. The setting, atmosphere and layout with wood burning fire for eating and enjoying pint is fantastic. The staff are great and the food was delicious. It’s always good experience to visit old and quaint 17th century buildings with its interior which provides cosy and welcoming feeling for strangers especially when its cold dark night.

Biggest scallops ever!! Very enjoyable lunch, the staff were very pleasant and efficient. Our meals were lovely. Would recommend as the pub is in a picturesque village setting. It may get busy in the evenings.

I wish I could give Fantails more than 5 stars. It would be my 7 star favourite. Absolutely love this venue, the food and the team who continually smile. Its a gem and if you are in the North Lakes, this is worth searching out. It's a classic. There isn't a restaurant on the planet that I would rather eat in than Fantails of Wetheral.

Family meal for 40 of us. Despite the noise from our group and their inability to take instruction from the staff, we were treated admirably. Patience abounded! I had soup, beef and sticky toffee pudding. All was great, though as a Yorkshireman I found the pudding a bit overdone.

Found this restaurant which did not appear on Google when I was looking for somewhere to eat. It's an old English country type of restaurant great value for money it has cosy intimate areas for couples and larger areas for groups. The staff were very friendly and helpful would recommend this restaurant if you are traveling around Carlisle it's in a village called Wetheral.
