The Cactus Tea Rooms & Bistro

I always avoid giving 5 stars to places as I always think that there’s room to improve… but The Cactus Tea Rooms is almost perfection! There is no justifiable reason to not give this place 5 stars. The food is amazing. Burgers are homemade and delicious, and the portions are massive for their price! The service is swift and amazing. One waitress was so careful with our dietary requirements, making sure everything was alright. She was kind, caring, and made the experience amazing. Food and drink came out in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere was calm and nice. It was lovely. One small point of development… the chips weren’t always crispy. But that was very small, and isn’t enough to remove 1 full star from the overall rating. Highly recommend you come. We are not locals and had cycled to Weymouth from Bournemouth. I checked Google for a decent cream ☕, we avoid any High St chains. Service with a smile makes a huge difference, so helpful. Cream tea was fab. I saw the next table had ordered the jacket 🥔 and they looked fab, sadly they had run out of Portland crab sandwiches. Would definitely return

We had cream tea with Prosseco for breakfast !! Lovely scones jam and plenty of cream. The young lady serving us reminded us to beware of the pesty seagulls!! My daughter asked if she could have the Cork from the Prosseco bottle (needed for her wedding) she came back with it not 5 minutes later. Young ladies were friendly

My wife and I had a pot of tea for 2. I also had a cheese and pickle sandwich and my wife had a cheese and onion sandwich. Both came well filled and with a side of coleslaw and a small salad. My wife had eaten half of her sandwich when a large seagull swooped down and took the other half. A member of staff came out, shooed the seagull away and made another half sandwich free of charge for my wife (we had offered to pay for it). Can't beat that for service. Definitely recommend this establishment both for food quality and service.
