Set in a suntrap square this pub has been sympathetically brought upto date but retained character. Great outside space with bench tables to enjoy the weather. Service was good with friendly and helpful barman. Returning to eat today and will post photos. Small fresh seafood plate a great choice, every element different and good with a cayenne bite to the mackerel pate. Great staff and a relaxed vibe. Charity hair shave (Sue & Sarah) for Cancer research (preceded by a performance by the band Replay )was well attended and is testament to the local community feel that this pub engenders.

Fab food at the Red Lion in Weymouth - excellent value for money, good service and friendly staff. Friends had the mixed seafood starter (in photo) and hubby & I shared calamari, prawns in chilli, 10oz fillet & scampi with a side salad which was beautifully fresh. Steak perfectly cooked medium rare and was lovely and tender Wish we were staying longer as would definitely go again!

The Red Lion is the sort of pub the proves why you should wonder a bit further away from the obvious tourist pubs! Its set on a lovely little square with a large amount of tables set out the front with good shade from the surrounding trees, great for a sunny lunchtime visit! Inside is more cosy, it’s not the biggest so I can imagine it gets busy quickly in colder, wet days and evenings! Note also at this point, that they don’t allow children under 10. Which is either a good or bad thing depending on the reason for your visit… The beer choice was a little limited, IPA is my current go to and they didn’t hold anything but the pint of Tribute I had was very nice, all seemed well kept. The food was definitely the star on our visit though! An amazing Brie salad and the fish finger sandwich was more like a whole portion of fish between two slices of bread, all fresh and delicious! So, if you’re in Weymouth, walk a little further and have a treat at the Red Lion!

Lovely dog friendly place, food fantastic, staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about area. Love that no children under 10 allowed but could be an issue for others. Will definitely visit again when in area.

Descent sized beer garden at the front of the premises. Nice little pub, staff were friendly and helpful. Popped in for a Guinness which was wonderful and sat outside while the weather was good. Nice visit.

I have never ever had the most brilliant time in public In Weymouth till I visit this pub! The service is perfect and meal is superb! Nice wine and atmosphere was excellent! Recently they put beach huts and must say it’s so nice and very cozy to sit in there ! Heating to keep you nice and warm in the cold days ! Visit on Monday for their special offer steak with wine oh people please do go it’s delicious! And for two people the deal is £25 perfect spend and seriously delicious! And dessert la are definitely worth to consider as well ! We had brownies with ice cream and oh yes the best so far!! Definitely visit again this superb pub !!

Very good food. Nice fresh Sea Bass.. Although close, you can't see the Harbour from here but it's still a good place to eat.

WentbtonWeymoithbto celebrate my 75th birthday popped into Brewers Quay forcz look and found this amazing pub .. so we decided to lunch there. Had the most amazing Seafood Sharers Platter which was to die for. If you go to Weymouth, make sure you visit The Red Lion. . You can get to it bynl the Land Train from Weymouth sea front door right to the door .. 5.00 pp. Saves having to find car space which is on a very steep hill.

Superb pub tucked away behind Weymouth Harbour. Great selection of cask ales, good home cooked food and plenty of it. Lovely staff. Really nice vibe and decor. Highly recommended!
