Wonderful atmosphere and amazing food, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in East Devon or around the Exeter area!! This country pub has lovely staff and chefs are fantastic incorporated with the brilliant atmosphere makes an amazing and great place to eat and drink and even play darts if you wanted to.

Been up here a few times for a drink, figured it was about time to sample the food and we definitely weren’t disappointed. After a brief mix up with the table. Which was efficiently handled. And they couldn’t apologise enough. they did warn us there would be a wait. Which wasn’t a problem by the time we had sat down and had a drink our food had been delivered within an hour of arrival. Which I always think is ideal timing anyway. Had one of the best tasting steaks I’ve had in a long time! The food was lovely and the portion sizes were generous and competitively prices. The service was friendly but not intrusive, every member of staff were cheerful and happy, which is a rarity these days! Very, very impressed and we will definitely be back!
Visited here first time since the re-opening and what a difference in the size of the place and the buzzing atmosphere. We had not booked but they soon found us a table but we decided to sit outside which was very pleasant. The lady that served use was very pleasant and accommodating. The food was good value for money but on the whole was a bit mixed. The pie of the day was outstanding very tasty and came with everything, Yorkshire pudding, roast potato's and lots of veg. The fish and chips were not so great, it was very big yes and chip were good but the fish was under cooked nearly rare in places and the batter was like raw dough underneath and was tasteless. I put this down to it probably being frozen and chief being very busy and hopefully is a one off. We will definitely return and hopefully have all round great experience, Overall a great pub and the owners have done a great transformation.

We only had light bites to eat, which were lovely, but on seeing the mains that other tables had ordered pass through……. Let’s just say, I’ll be opting for arriving with an empty stomach next time around - they all looked delightful.
The Fish and Chips and Steak Dishes really caught my wandering eye. Though all the food looked vibrant, fresh and appealing.
Really enjoyed our visit here for my mum’s 60th birthday meal last night. Top food, service was great and at a reasonable price. Made us feel very welcome. Will definitely come again.
Lovely place! Really friendly staff, they were so welcoming. I did order the burger, it came out a little too rare for my liking so I did ask for it to be cooked a little more and they were more than happy to do that for me which I really appreciate. We will definitely be going back! 100% recommend!
