We popped in for a working lunch during a cold mid-week day. It was quietish and the owners/staff were very welcoming and made sure we sat somewhere we could eat and also work, which was really helpful. Colleague had the steak and I had the fish pie which was huge (you do NOT need sides 🙄). While we were there, a couple of locals popped in for coffees and hot chocolates, and it was nice to see it wasn't just a visitor/ tourist destination. The place has a relaxed atmosphere with first class food and pretty addictive hot chocolate (I had three...).

Really nice spot for lunch! I would recommend the oysters, they were so fresh. I also had the dressed crab, it wasn't something I personally enjoyed as it was cold and the fries were missing. Also, the salad is dressed in balsamic vinegar. Overall I still would come again.

Absolutely first class food, the first time we have visited but most certainly not the last! Excellent service from the staff during an exceptionally busy service. Although a full restaurant and full outside (we booked in advance) it did not feel this way with the effortless team work that went into getting orders out quickly and efficiently.

We had just landed in Whitby and immediately looked at places to eat as it was getting late. We called ahead to ensure they were still serving food! Venturing out in the wind and rain We got there and were greeted warmly and beckoned to sit down. The whole decor was very befitting of the restaurants name it felt very nautical! For starters, we had tempura oysters which were gorgeous and for mains a crab spaghetti and fish curry with greens on the side. These were also beautifully presented, the spaghetti had lots of large pieces of crab and tasted freshly made , just a little oily? My curry also contained lovely fresh tasting seafood with crispy skin pompoms..genius! The sauce was very ..hmm too much Saffron or something 🤔 the greens consisted of lots of kale etc and was filled to the Brim so very goof value. The service was impeccable with just the one gent serving. Overall great atmosphere and gorgeous food.

Service could not have been more friendly, inviting and engaging. Food was magnificent. I don’t write reviews often, so this is a testament to how great this establishment is. Lots of great places to eat in Whitby, but this one will be memorable for us. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at a restaurant in Whitby, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The food and atmosphere at this place were top-notch. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and I had the best-tasting oysters I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. You won't be disappointed!

The dressed crab was excellent, the battered fish & chips was missing from the menu, and the Supreme Chicken was a bit tart (always have seafood at a seafood restaurant!).
