We stopped here for a spot of lunch whilst on a day out. The food and service are excellent. The price seemed a little high but due to the quality of the food it wasn't a big issue. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and looking for good quality fish and chips, the menu is quite extensive if you are looking for something else.
Stopped here today around 2ish for a bite to eat. The partner declared best fish and chips he’s had in a long time and we have tried many. I had the scampi and chips which was delicious. Good portion sizes not swamped with chips. Tartare sauce was amazing. Service great. Restaurant decor relaxing and toilets spotless. Brilliant place would highly recommend for
The Good The fish and chips. Let's not overcomplicate things. You want a good representation of proper Whitby fish and chips and you'll find it here. Local people all have their favourites and end up being loyal to one, but there are a clutch of top-tier fish and chips in the town, and Quayside is one of them. If you see a long line at Magpie just forget it, they won't offer anything that Quayside can't also provide. The location is stunning, with views across to the Abbey. The Bad "Bad" isn't right, Quayside is a good choice. We dined in. Service was ok, if a little impersonal, and it took a long time to get the bill. But this is a tourist hotspot with lots of covers, so we can cut them some slack, and we're not expecting fine-dining levels of service when ordering fish and chips. Top Tip If you desire no skin on the fish, then order the cod. The haddock is skin-on, but (to me) the better choice.
