After travelling over 2 hours we stopped here for lunch. I ordered fish and chips, which was lovely as the fish was lightly covered in batter and the fish felt very fresh and melted in your mouth. The chips were good too.

We always go to the Fish Box when in Whitby. Chips are cooked to perfection and they have beans as well as peas. Some plant based options too when ch is a nice touch.

We bought a fish box meal which is fish, chips a choice of mushy peas, gravy, beans or curry and a drink. Great value for money. They were well cooked and tasted lovely. There are benches outside to eat them and we weren't bothered by sea gulls.
A fab day out in Whitby should include the old abbey on the top of the hill. You can fill your mind and imaginations with the colorful history it possesses. Great food!! Lovely little place too. The staff extremely friendly. Fish and chips cooked lovely, reasonably priced too. We sat in, and was a lovely little eating/cafe area to eat our meals. Clean and cosy. Wouldn't hesitate in going again when I'm in the area and on the hunt for food!!
Excellent tasting fish and chips, decent portions and price. Shame about the customer service. No smiles, not helpful. So perhaps better as a takeaway.
