This is the best place for fish n chips in Whitby, hands down. Forget your Trenchers and Magpie these are the canines dangly bits!
The meal boxes here are fantastic value for money. Great chips and curry sauce and had possibly the best fishcake I've ever tasted! Will definitely be back!

First time visiting and very nice food, cooked fresh! My wife had the Chicken and Mushroom pie and I had sausage and chips. My wife really enjoyed the pie and the sausage was freshly cooked. We both really enjoyed the chips. We used their self service EPOS screen to order our food and found it to not be very user friendly. But I observed the level of service that was given to people ordering at the counter and it was great so can't fault the service. Polite, friendly staff. Reasonable price when you consider other options in the area, also perfectly situated to bring in those customers that have just had a long drive and are you hungry!

With a lot of choice for fish and chips in Whitby, we chose fish box because it was affordable and appears to be very popular. The decor is nicely done and there is sufficient seating both inside and out. My wife and i decided to sit outside as we visited on a warm afternoon, it's just a shame that fish box doesn't overlook the harbour. Sadly the main road can be quite noisy and my dogs were put off by the busy traffic going past.
Staff are very pleasant and you can order either at the counter or self serve machines, which means you won't be waiting around to place an order. Staff are very accommodating, I even saw a man pull up outside in a van and they went out to take his order.
We have been to the fish box a couple of years ago, however the food tasted even better on this visit. My wife and I both had cod and chips and for the price you will struggle to find a better place to eat. Shame the tomato ketchup costs 30p for a small sachet, I would love to see this be complimentary.
In summary I would recommend Fish box to others visiting Whitby, the food is very fresh and you will receive a warm welcome.
Great food, very crispy battery on fish Great chips and service was very welcoming . Also reasonably priced. Overall great little place to grab a bite.
Excellent tasting fish and chips, decent portions and price. Shame about the customer service. No smiles, not helpful. So perhaps better as a takeaway.

The food was amazing! We passed lots of fish and chip shops in Whitby with massive queues, so we were dubious, but with a hungry 3 year old, we couldn’t wait. We were not disappointed!
The fish and chips were huge and fresh, and the scampi the tastiest ever! Portions sizes were huge and reasonable prices for the size! Don’t pass this place by! Xx
After travelling over 2 hours we stopped here for lunch. I ordered fish and chips, which was lovely as the fish was lightly covered in batter and the fish felt very fresh and melted in your mouth. The chips were good too.
You can either order at the counter, using an app or using a machine to place your order.
After I ordered they gave you a little device that buzzed when your order was ready to collect.
Didn't have to wait long and staff were friendly
Weddy and George are very welcoming food was excellent, plenty of seating inside or out, its not cheap but if you pay cheap you get cheap everything is fresh cooked and the scampi is the best I've ever tasted and well worth it. I'll be going back again Please give it a try it's well worth it 👌. You can even buy food and walk a couple of minutes and sit on the harbour to eat. I have just Sean a picture of the menu the prices have gone up since that photo but still worth every penny
