Fish Box Whitby

Good place, I always go for a battered sausage and chips, surprisingly cheap and delicious. Wish they sold cream soda along with their other drinks though... If you order not close to meal time, the food might be a little less hot than I'd wish, but if you keep it safely close to lunch it'll be fine.

First time visiting and very nice food, cooked fresh! My wife had the Chicken and Mushroom pie and I had sausage and chips. My wife really enjoyed the pie and the sausage was freshly cooked. We both really enjoyed the chips. We used their self service EPOS screen to order our food and found it to not be very user friendly. But I observed the level of service that was given to people ordering at the counter and it was great so can't fault the service. Polite, friendly staff. Reasonable price when you consider other options in the area, also perfectly situated to bring in those customers that have just had a long drive and are you hungry!

With a lot of choice for fish and chips in Whitby, we chose fish box because it was affordable and appears to be very popular. The decor is nicely done and there is sufficient seating both inside and out. My wife and i decided to sit outside as we visited on a warm afternoon, it's just a shame that fish box doesn't overlook the harbour. Sadly the main road can be quite noisy and my dogs were put off by the busy traffic going past. Staff are very pleasant and you can order either at the counter or self serve machines, which means you won't be waiting around to place an order. Staff are very accommodating, I even saw a man pull up outside in a van and they went out to take his order. We have been to the fish box a couple of years ago, however the food tasted even better on this visit. My wife and I both had cod and chips and for the price you will struggle to find a better place to eat. Shame the tomato ketchup costs 30p for a small sachet, I would love to see this be complimentary. In summary I would recommend Fish box to others visiting Whitby, the food is very fresh and you will receive a warm welcome.
