This has to be one of the best fish and chips I’ve had!! we ordered the BIG one and barely finished it between 2! 😄
Service and staff were friendly and efficient, it was a very busy summers day and they still brought the food out quickly. Highly recommend if you are in Whitby.
Went yesterday, around 3pm. Waited 10 mins for a table. Ordered 3 fish and chips (one Gluten Free) with teas. The fish was delicious, really soft and moist with crisp batter. We all really enjoyed the food and drink. Staff were friendly
Second time I've been here, few years apart but the quality hasn't changed. Food was lovely, atmosphere was great and very friendly/relaxing. What can I say about the service, except it was excellent, we were served by Siva and Noel and what an absolute pleasure it was, not just to meet and be served by these two but to be made feel really welcome and the banter was great. Don't know when but I will definitely be returning here for food again :) A++++ service. Thank you
Short wait outside on a warm day for a table. It was really delicious and some of the best fish n chips I've had in a while. The waiters were all really helpful and kind. We had a seat overlooking Whitby bridge, which was nice. The only downside that everyone around me could be heard to say was that the toilets are another 2 floors up from the tables. I found alot of ppl struggling up and down the stairs.
Delicious food, high quality, resonable prices and very friendly stuff..especially Siva and Sophie.
I had fishermen's pie, pea mush and chips. Really nice 👌

Absolutely amazing food Noel was so friendly and looked after us very well amazing service. Also Sophie the manager dealt with an annoying customer very well will be back to papas in Whitby again. 5 star plus.
Came in here to escape the rainy weather. It didn’t disappoint. We got fish & chips and was lush, so big for the price. Lovely atmosphere & pleasant staff, Lewis was lovely and very attentive. Tina, Seth & Kofi also very nice. Great food, staff & restaurant thanks guys x
Absolutely great food, good quality, fantastic staff, and couldn't ask for a better service! It's more friendly than The Magpie, honestly! Staff members are all lovely, and the atmosphere was nice and cosy. Loved it xxx
Great fish and chips! Had cod (small) which was plenty. Loaded up with chips and the staff were extremely friendly. Great spot in Whitby to get some top class sea food!
Recommended Papas to come here and it was great 👍lovely food and great service from Sophie and Siva.
If you want good fish and chips this is a great shout. Cater for Vegans and Vegetarians aswell 😍
The food was good, but there was no atmosphere and very basic decoration. There was also a stickiness on the floors and tables. And the windows which were quite dirty which spoilt the potential views.
Very nice place. Freindly staff, nice priced fish and chips, the fish is locally sourced and was called 'Wendy'.
More stairs than a Wetherspoon on my way to the toilet.
Absolutely perfect fish restaurant, truly deserves all the accolades it has achieved.
Rather pricy but I cannot fault the staff, quality and atmosphere. It's really a cut above many similar restaurants and so good we went a second time to see if it was a one-off but no, it was even better on a cold and sunny November lunchtime. The staff are young, enthusiastic and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Yes it is pricy but sometimes you need to push the boat out and eat the catch freshly prepared in luscious surroundings by people who know their business.
We promised a captain Jack sparrow advertising that we would be back one day to try the food. Well jack wherever you are, worth it!
