Fantastic should have got the small portion as there was loads on plate Fish was white and batter lovely Pot of tea was good too Lovely friendly staff x
4 of us have been for the fish and chip afternoon tea today.
Absolutely gorgeous and great value for money at £9.95 per person.
The lovely staff even boxed up the cakes we couldn't manage for us to bring home. Best scones I've ever tasted!!
Highly recommend will definately be back.
I will rate this place 4 stars as is very friendly staff place looks very tidy and clean and very good price the fish and chips great taste and wonderful golden fry colour
I wish I can go again but looks like a near future
Down side well I record the facility as the whole place is done but the toilets are very small and out of date. And the tables out side I think it need more space as easy can get overwhelming by people doing the queue to get in other ways will be a perfect place.
Do I recommend well no to the locals as they already know is a good place to dine in but if you are visiting well do check out you will be no disappointed but check the opening hours ..
Had to knock at least one star off for atmosphere as one the regulars was rudely staring at me and then a woman came and sat down and started coughing .. so I decided to take the food out rather than suffer anymore .
The food was great.. but £9.80 for fish chips and peas to take away wouldn't get me going back for more ...
We had 2 x battered haddock and chips and a gluten free battered cod to takeaway. All three of us enjoyed them.
My haddock was a good sized portion, perfectly cooked, tasty and seemed very fresh.
Chips OK but I only ate about half a dozen of them as the haddock filled me up.
Price was reasonable, so was the time to be served.
Premises seemed clean and tidy, so did the 'restaurant' which is a basic seating area.
Loved this place. If you really want good fish and chips look no further.
Cannot be faulted, especially if you are in the area
Oh lordy... we were recommended by the guest house we were staying in as the place to come for fish and chips. Everyone else in the queue obviously had the same idea. We had to wait for about 15 mins, but you know what they say. Good things come to those who wait. Great food, would recommend also to other people. Think we'll have to come back!!! Thank you again :)
I was staying in Whitehaven with a group of friends for the weekend and we all decided to have fish and chips. One of the party was gluten free and after searching on Google maps, Fraser's came up as they did gluten free. Pre ordered the meal on the telephone and picked up later in the day just before closing. The portion sizes were very good. Most of the order was for fish and chips, but I ordered the home made meat and potato pie, chips, peas and gravy. Mmm everyone really enjoyed their meals including me. The shop is situated close to the harbour, well worth the money! If I'm in Whitehaven again I'll definitely be going back to Fraser's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you're looking for a top-notch fish and chip shop, look no further than Fraser's. My recent experience at this establishment was nothing short of delightful. I had the battered sausage, chips, and gravy, and every element of my meal was absolutely delicious.
The gravy was spot on - rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. It was the perfect complement to the crispy and piping hot chips, which were cooked to perfection and tasted incredibly fresh. And let's not forget about the star of the show: the battered sausage. It was juicy and flavorful, with a crispy coating that added just the right amount of texture.
But it's not just the food that makes Fraser's stand out. The service was lightning-fast, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made sure I felt right at home and were happy to answer any questions I had.
Overall, I would highly recommend Fraser's to anyone in search of the perfect fish and chips. The quality of the food, the friendly service, and the welcoming atmosphere make this establishment a true standout in the world of fast food.
Fab cod and chips, cooked perfectly, loved the batter,it’s crispy 😃would definitely stop by again.
Sat down to eat the best fish & chips I had in Cumbria since moving here 25 years ago I have always had takeaway else were but not as good as these lovely friendly staff too that made it all nice thank you very much ❤️
When all other chip shops compensate for tiny fish with portions of chips that are obscenely excessive, this place is a breath of fresh air that serves up sizeable cod and a good amount of thick-cut chips - best bang for your buck!
