Dirties

Extremely pleasantly surprised with the quality of food at Dirties. We went in with low expectations due to the exterior and the fact that it was super empty inside (it was 4pm on a Sunday evening and we are use to everywhere still being busy in London, so expected the same from restaurants on the beach just an hour away). It was practically empty apart from another one table being full. We sat outside in the back courtyard and had the place to yourself, it was lovely. After about 20 minutes of changing my mind about the menu, I opted for the Soft Tacos, specifically the 3 x Fried Buttermilk Chicken with Donkey Mayo, Red/Green chillies and cilantro leaves, and they were exceptional. It filled me perfectly as I wasn't extremely hungry, so I would say order this and a side if you are looking for something a bit bigger as it's pretty light, but definitely worth it! Would definitely go back if I was looking for a lighter option in Whistable.

Had a great night Saturday at Dirties starting with friendly welcoming staff & lovely margarita cocktails. The Mexican Street food theme works really well so it’s very atmospheric. We loved the menus sharing platters so each of us enjoyed lots of different choices. Ticks all the boxes - great food, great service & vibrant atmosphere, will definitely be returning soon!

We had the most amazing meal at Dirties! The food is a fresh modern take on Mexican and it works so well - definitely try the steak tacos! The staff were so welcoming and attentive throughout the meal, and we loved how they have transformed the old bank. This restaurant is a great addition to Whitstable, we'll definitely being going back!

What a cool place to arrive in Whitstable! Went there on a recent trip and will definitely be going back! From the moment you look inside and see the unique decor to the welcome you get , it’s a great Mexican experience. We had some cocktails , Albariño and finished with tequila shots which was a lovely end to the night. But the real highlight was the food. Buttermilk chicken , fish and king prawn tacos were our favourites and never tasted anything like it before. You have to be brave with the menu because the flavours are amazing. Look for ward to seeing you again soon Dirties!!

Amazing service, food was bloody brilliant. I’ve read some bad reviews and seems so harsh, must be local old people scared of change. It’s Mexican inspired so expect tacos and burritos but not full of your traditional Mexican tastes. A really cool modern take on simple food. Decor is so much cooler than anywhere else in town. A gem
