As a local family, we eat here often and it’s great every time. My daughter loves the finger boxes and sausage rolls while my wife and I enjoy the panini’s and jacket potatoes. Something for everyone and always a service with a smile. We’ll keep coming back!

Really delicious sandwiches and accompaniments. The picnic box for 4 people would easily feed 6 and is a bargain at £50 (August 2022). The proprietor is friendly and the shop is sparkling clean. Grab a box and dine on the beach. Perfect!

Lovely spicy soup and chunky. Bread and butter. In environmentally friendly pot and spoon. Under £5 healthy lunch what's not to like. I will be back. Staff are friendly and helpful.

What a find! There was 3 of us, we all had prawn sandwiches, and all agreed they were the best sandwiches we’d ever had, made to order with lovely fresh ingredients, very filling and tasty.
Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

I hired the Thames barge Greta for a day's sailing to celebrate my 70th birthday. The Picnic Box was ideally located to provide our on-board lunch. We kicked off with early morning bacon sandwiches served in the South Quay space, and then loaded up our prepared boxes. Our party ranged in age from 4-69, and special boxes were designated for the two children, as well as for those with "healthy appetites". The contents were excellent, particularly the deep-filled sandwiches and pastries.
Liaising, with Allen beforehand was very straightforward.
An enquiry concerning the potential presence of nut allergens was answered promptly and reassured us that this important issue was well controlled.
A great plus was to be able to return the packing and utensils (almost all of which seemed to be recyclable) to their unit at the end of our trip.
In short, highly recommended.

What an amazing experience! Today was our 29th wedding anniversary and due to external factors, we couldn’t attend the meal that we had planned to celebrate.
Alan came to our rescue and prepared a superb smorgasbord of a picnic, which we enjoyed by the sea. 5 stars, Alan!

I discovered a new type of pure joy at this shop. Ice creams! Amazing flavours like lotus biscoff and malteaser ice cream which taste just like the real thing but creamier! I’m eating one right now on the beach and it’s pure luxurious bliss!
