Reviews of Basmati

Vegetarian, Eastern Nepalese garlic chilli was awesome. There must have been at least a bulb of garlic and fresh green chillies. Very friendly and some sarcastic (in a nice way) staff. Tarkha Dhall was nearly as good as it was back in East (Nepal and India). Consistency of thick soup with plenty of salt and garlic. Can't fault it, yet found it to be slightly pricier than the norm. The tables were not cleared straight after the departure of the clients. Wouldn't go to Basmati for a romantic night out or a 1st date but would definitely go back to satisfy my taste buds. Would recommend.

Absolutely lovely service! I left my designer Prada glasses in there once and got them back. Always really warm and friendly even on the phone. Beautiful food, always so fresh and well presented. Think it's the owner who I spoke to, he was so nice to me when I had COVID and had to order some food, he stayed safe behind my garden wall to deliver it but showed true concern and was just so nice. We will always be a loyal customer... Thanks Danielle

This was always our favourite Indian restaurant yet we hadn't been for a while. When we visited, we found that it was under new ownership and we wondered how it would compare. Everything was amazing.This place is always on form, we have never left disappointed and have stopped going to some really excellent places because.. why have silver when you can have gold! Vegetarians are so well catered, and the staff are a delight.

Rude and Disrepectful. My last experience at this restaurant was AWFUL! <br/>I have been to this restaurant many times and generally receive an adequate standard of food and service. My most recent trip i received neither and left shocked at how rude the staff were. Our isse was we booked a table but after 30 mins still hadn't sat down, despite 3 other parties (without booking) were sat down before us. We questionned why they said there was a table and why we couldn't sit at empty tables to a plethora of rude responses. This was before having our change thrown across the bar at us when we 'suggested' leaving. There was a total lack of respect, customer service, and common decency. We go to restaurants to pay for a good meal / atmosphere/ service; this restaurant left a lot to be desired and the staff seemed totally unaware of the concept of the service industry and the premis that the customer is always right. We ended up leaving the restaurant and eating elsewhere. will definitely not be going back in a hurry. Unbelieveable that restaurants treat their customers so badly.
