Gidlow Plaice chippy states open until 8pm online
Arrived there at 19.40 tonight 18.05.2022 to find staff sweeping up and being told that they were shut
I have to say though, the chips when available are really really good

Nearly always get our chippy chips, battered sausage, meals etc. from here when we're having a treat evening. Shop itself is very clean, or we wouldn't step inside the door.

There have been a few brows raised a couple of times with regards to portions or lots of bitty chips or over fried chips/battered fish. It hasn't happened alot but I suppose everyone has a bad day. We've been eating here for about 2 years'ish. Tried quiet a few chippers in Wigan. Happiest with this one.

Visited after watching a YouTube video. Well worth a 15 mile round trip. The chips were as good as any and the fish was nice and chewy with a crispy batter.

Gidlow plaice was fantastic. Family fish box for £13.50, 2 large fish, 2 large sausage, extra large chips, 3 sides and a 2ltr bottle of pop. All fresh and extremely tasty. Would give more stars if I could.
