Red Lion

We feel really at home when we visit The Red Lion. We travel 12 miles from home after work to come on a Thursday to the famous Pub Quiz every week. We enjoy time with friends, a great fun quiz, fantastic staff who welcome us, remember the small things that are a little bit special like our drink preferences, our dogs names, how we got on the week before with sometimes we were chatting about. We love that it's a dog friendly place and inclusive of all walks of life. We especially love Nichola's amazing hosting skills and laughs during the games giving us the hype to win big and be a chancer with the buzzer round. Katrina goes above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and the whole team are great. Always a night very much enjoyed after a tough week in work that keeps us coming back to our pub tea and the quiz on a Thursday. We are already booked on for our Christmas get together and looking forward to it.

My partner and I stayed here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the food was lovely and well priced. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious and we had everything we needed. Ample of parking spaces, there are also some goats at the back of the property. Lovely little getaway. Thank you 😊

We were greeted by a very friendly and polite member of staff and seated immediately. She made us feel very welcome and explained the system of ordering. We ordered our main course dishes which were served quickly and piping hot - the food was lovely. The server checked that everything was ok in a very polite manner. We were looked after very well. We ordered sweets but unfortunately the two that we wanted were not available - we chose alternatives which were delicious and perfectly acceptable alternatives. Again these were served very quickly. We found the whole experience really good and we will definitely be going back and recommending to our friends and family. Thank you Red Lion!!
