Lovely intimate tapas restaurant for delicious and authentic Spanish tapas. Also some delicious sherry on offer. Excellent food and friendly staff. May be difficult to park next to so I'd suggest parking on Rodney Street and walking down to the restaurant.
Been there tonight with a relative that has lived in Spain for over 20 years. I thought the food was excellent and he said two of his dishes were better than he has ever had in Spain and the rest just as good. Good service nice atmosphere will definitely go back again.

In my opinion, bringing 1 dish of tapas and making other 3 people sit and watch, isn't great service. And empty starter sharing platters still taking whole table up, not being cleared till prompted, isn't great service. But expecting you to be out in 2 hours to free the table. We literally still had food on plates 5 mins before our time ran out, shoved food down, and with full drinks went to sit outside. Running out of cider after a few bottles - bad stock control. The food was nice, but some dishes lacked seasoning.
Oh, it was so good! There's a few things that I've not seen at other Tapas places, which was lovely 🥰
We had steamed mussels in a cream and sherry sauce, grilled aubergine with goats cheese, walnuts and honey, goats cheese croquettes which were so fluffy and dates stuffed with manchego I think it was, wrapped in Serrano ham and drizzled with honey. Delicious! I was envious of the braised pork cheeks at another table. The food was truly outstanding and very reasonably priced. It's a firm favourite for me now after this, my first experience, and I'll return when impressing a date ❤️
We booked for a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy with a great atmosphere and the service was excellent. Our food was fresh and delicious and we enjoyed all the dishes we’d chosen. Great night out and would def recommend. 5*
One of the best restaurants in Wigan, I’ve never left disappointed 😍 Staff are lovely, food is super fresh, and service is always fast. There’s loads of veggie and vegan options - the team are really good at tailoring dishes to dietary requirements if you ask. Only a small venue so make sure you book!

Having travelled to Spain on multiple occasions, I'm simply blown away by the quality and authenticity of the Tapas. I'd go so far as to say that the food here is better than in Spain. We're so lucky to have a Tapas restaurant of this quality in Wigan. Long may Plata Tapas continue!
On top of all that, the value for money is exceptional. Most dishes average around the £5/£6 mark and with that in mind, when the bill came it was a pleasant surprise. I've paid 3 times more in other restaurants for a meal that was just about OK. My advice, be grateful for the value and make it up with a healthy tip for the staff who are amazing.

Have been intending going here since it opened but today was the first time. My son booked a table for a mother's day treat and what a treat it was. All the dishes we picked were utterly delicious, perfectly cooked and really nicely presented. The two young girls waiting on were lovely, very friendly and cheerful. Will definitely be going again soon.
Authentic, delicious Spanish tapas. The chorizo in red wine and honey was to die for! Can't wait to return. We went at 4pm midweek, hence the low score for atmosphere.
