Really good food. You'd think it's a normal cafe until you see the menu and choices of cakes and tarts. The salt n pepper chicken and walnut salad were tasty. And I can vouch for the salt and pepper chicken, as good as the ones I've tasted in Hong Kong. Carrot cake is yummy. Good portions and reasonable prices too. And friendly service.

Lovely cafe that offers food on a blackboard. We plumped for cake and hot drinks. Cake was so good we got takeaway also. Staff were very nice, couldn't do enough.

Popped in for a drink and snack after going round the bookshops and found it to be a real little gem. The chocolate brownie was superb!

We found this café when exploring the local area and wanted a hot drink and something sweet, but our options were quite limited as most places were closed, so we went in. We had coffees and cakes, which were pretty good. The staff were very attentive and friendly as well. We would go back for sure if we ever visit Wigtown again!

What a gem of a place. If you want to simply sit and enjoy great food and chat then come here. A warm friendly little place with the best kind of home made goodness in the food. If you make it past the cakes on the counter without salivating you're a stronger man than I.
The soup will warm you and fuel you to whatever the Scottish weather has to offer. But why venture back outside when you have all those cakes to try. Another coffee if you please good man. I'll stay just one slice longer.

Dropped in for a drink and cake late on a Saturday afternoon. It was really nice to find somewhere open at this time of day as quite often most cafes in D&G close 3.30-4pm even in the summer.
The staff were very helpful in describing all the lovely cakes on display. We chose to have warm Ecclefechan tart, one with cream and one with ice cream. It was absolutely delicious and went well with the pot of tea and latte.
It's a really nice little cafe with helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

A lovely little cafe that complements “Scotland’s national book town” nicely. A good amount of tables that can fit 4 people on comfortably. I had the bacon and brie panini which was excellent. The fries were also light and fluffy. A nice selection of drinks are available, such as tea, coffee and soft drinks. 10/10!

Our first time in the Cafe, we visit the town regularly with our work.
We were not disappointed, the service, food and value for money was top rate.
The best meal we have had in a very long time in a cafe anyway, and with work we have visited a few.
It would be hard to find a better deal in town.

Visited Wigton as its always somewhere we've wanted to visit. Found the place a bit over hyped, some really good book shops, well the ones that were open looked good, but there not a lot more here. The only saving grace was this place. Not a big cafe but a very good selection of cakes, we had the Ecclefechan tart and the caramel apple crumble. The tart was the first time I've had a local produced version of this and it was excelent, really fruity. The scoffer of the apple crumble also reported that it was very nice, withplenty of fruit in it. Judging by other dishes other people were having, their food looked of equal quality. The staff were friendly and efficient, we would definately go back.
