Review The Star Inn - Willerby

The Star Inn is an excellent traditional friendly community pub. There is a large, comfortable lounge and a back room bar with a pool table. It had four hand pulled cask conditioned real ales on when I called in. The excellent food is homemade and very popular. The mixed grill is fabulous. The service is excellent, highly recommended.

One of the best Sunday dinners we've had in years! Very, very impressed 😉 We were supposed to eat elsewhere today, but thankfully there were no spaces available, so a little Google search later and we found The Star Inn. The staff were amazing, so pleasant, helpful and full of smiles! It's hard to find such great people like this ♥️ A Sunday dinner (a great one ☺️) can be made at home, after balancing lots of different cooking times and temperatures. But so many places/pubs/establishments just never deliver when cooking en masse. Not today though 🙀😁 We just loved this meal: lovely herbs on the roast potatoes; tasty, crunch and soft (in the right places 🤣) Yorkshire puddings; veg that wasn't tuned into a soggy mess; fabulous broccoli and cauliflower cheese (not soggy 👍); nicely seasoned meat and mashed potatoes... Even the gravy had a great flavour, and yes, I scaped out the last of the gravy with a spoon 🤫☺️ Thank-you to everyone that was working today, you made our day and our amazing meal 🙂

Cracking home cooked food. Decent choice of lagers, ales and spirits too. Staff friendly and more or a chilled atmosphere which was great for a family meal to celebrate a birthday 🎈 more pricey than your average pubs food-wise but you get what you pay for in my opinion and well worth it. I had the mixed grill which was probably one of the nicest I've had, decent portions and good cuts of meat. Chips are to die for and remind me of my mum's proper chip pan fried chips!! Will certainly be visiting again soon 👍

Thursday tea time, very busy. Bar staff very good, and the food was excellent at a very reasonable price. Probably worth booking, I was dining alone (working away) and they squeezed me in. Glad I came, well worth a visit.

We had a lovely time here at the weekend it was very busy but we were told there was a delay on food orders when we arrived. When food did come we were not disappointed quality was excellent and service really good. Good selection of drinks in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Nice place to eat. Couldn't fault the food or drink. Only lost a star on service as one of my party was waiting a bit too long for the veg to accompany his meal, eaten nearly half of it when the veg came to the table. Although that was the only meal it happened with. Apart from that small thing, everyone thought their food was very good. A music act was later, who also turned out to be decent. We'll certainly be going back.

Had post funeral wake in hired room with buffet. It was excellent. Food very good. Very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend here.

Newly refurbished wow what a difference! Went across tea time very busy so would recommend booking a table. Staff lovely food delicious as always

Went yesterday, service and waiting staff great but food was lacking, mediocre at best which is a pity because the last time we ate there it was wonderful. I would like it to carvery food, nothing wrong with a carvery but it costs an awful lot less.

We go in Star frequently and never had bad meal or beer. I had the special pork medallions and my hubby had fish and chips all lovely. Staff are pleasant as well

Food and service was excellent! Been a few times and the food has always been spot on 😁

The food we had was lovely. The staff were very friendly. Only problem we were sat near an open inner door but was very cold when outer door kept being opened. Asked if we could shut inner door but told no, not at the moment by a member of staff as they were in and out with pots.

Great pub with good quality home cooked food.

Beef and mushroom pie was gorgeous, really enjoyed my meal, and the girl that served us was lovely.
