We go in Star frequently and never had bad meal or beer. I had the special pork medallions and my hubby had fish and chips all lovely. Staff are pleasant as well

Thursday tea time, very busy. Bar staff very good, and the food was excellent at a very reasonable price. Probably worth booking, I was dining alone (working away) and they squeezed me in. Glad I came, well worth a visit.

One of the best Sunday dinners we've had in years! Very, very impressed 😉
We were supposed to eat elsewhere today, but thankfully there were no spaces available, so a little Google search later and we found The Star Inn. The staff were amazing, so pleasant, helpful and full of smiles! It's hard to find such great people like this ♥️
A Sunday dinner (a great one ☺️) can be made at home, after balancing lots of different cooking times and temperatures. But so many places/pubs/establishments just never deliver when cooking en masse. Not today though 🙀😁 We just loved this meal: lovely herbs on the roast potatoes; tasty, crunch and soft (in the right places 🤣) Yorkshire puddings; veg that wasn't tuned into a soggy mess; fabulous broccoli and cauliflower cheese (not soggy 👍); nicely seasoned meat and mashed potatoes... Even the gravy had a great flavour, and yes, I scaped out the last of the gravy with a spoon 🤫☺️

Went to a private party in the back room, the hot buffet was nice. Coffee was poor and very overpriced. The service was ok, had a to wait at the extremely small bar a couple of times, but there were only a couple of girls on, who were very friendly and pleasant, and helpful. Several of the guests went to the main bar for drinks. This was probably a good plan.

Very popular and busy. So bit of a wait for our meal. But they were catering for a funeral wake on the day we visited. Would recommend
Food is made in house and tasty but slightly over priced for what was offered. Been in gastro pubs and paid the same for far better quality food (veggies were over cooked and curry bland). Service was excellent and staff polite and helpful esp to the aged members of the party. Happy hour and discounted early dinner (tea in Yorkshire) was a better price to pay.
