San Pietro is the best restaurant in Windermere. So good we came back for a second time during our stay. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Some of the best service we have received in a restaurant. All the dishes we tried we're delicious 😋. We'll definitely be back. 5 star Restaurant.
We had a table booked for 17/4/2024 as we were up in Windermere for our mini-moon and also my new wife Nicola's birthday. We really liked the look and feel of the place as soon as we walked in. The staff were really nice, we never got the name of the lad who who looked after us but he did a great job. The food was outstanding, for starters we had garlic prawns and Parmesan balls, both were absolutely delicious. Main courses were 2 x fillet steaks, cooked perfect. Finally desert was limoncello cheesecake.
San Pietro is definitely one of the best Itlaian restaurants we ever been to, we'll definitely call again next time we're in Windermere.
THE best Italian food by far I have tasted In a very long time, would say it’s the best meal I’ve ever had and I eat out a lot at wonderful restaurants around the world.
the starter of garlic prawns is enough to feed two of juicy succulent sweet perfectly cooked prawns in sweet cherry tomatoes, chilli and garlic, I could have drunk the sauce alone it was so good. The duck main course was out of this world, crispy slow roasted duck on thé sweetest red cabbage and smoothest mash you could ever eat 💪👏👏👏👏outstanding is too little a compliment.
Don’t get me started on desert it blew our minds . Just go and enjoy food at its very best.

Incredibly rich and satisfying food. The waiters were very welcoming and friendly. The dining environment was rather intimate but did not feel crowded, giving it a homely feel.
Tried a gin martini to begin drinks and it was crisp, cold and refreshing. A well mixed cocktail.
The food was rich but not overpoweringly so. The classics, served exceptionally well. We had the arancini balls to begin with which were highly satisfying. Thin crispy batter and a sticky savoury risotto with just a hint of lemon. Excellent.
For the mains we had lasagne and duck leg confit. The confit was a masterclass in high quality food. Perfectly cooked duck leg, with a thin Ns crispy skin but a succulent and juicy meat inside. Buttered creamed potatoes and a beautifully simmered red cabbage, perfumed with wine and spices. The lasagne was a hearty thick wedge of perfection. Exquisite balance of rich meat ragu, bechamel and tomato, with satisfying layers of pasta.
For dessert we had limoncello cheesecake - tangy and refreshing, and also cherry bakewell with pistachio ice cream - sweet and cakey.
A wonderful experience. If you are in Windermere you really should consider booking a table.
Amazing restaurant, the food was incredible and the staff are lovely, I even received a birthday card! a A big shout out to our waiter for helping my boyfriend pick his main course, was a great choice and he really made our evening. Thank you all!
The best lasagne I have ever had 😍 so glad we found this place. The staff, food and setting were all 10/10. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning here and telling our family/friends about it.

We have tried to book in here on a number of occasions but it has always been booked up so we booked quite a while ago.
After our experience here we can fully understand why you need to book in advance!
The Restaurant itself is really lovely inside with a really nice, rustic décor. The Team are very friendly & attentive and the food is gorgeous.
I ordered Garlic Prawn starter & Mrs K ordered the dressed Goat's cheese with fig & pear and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Garlic Prawns were delicious with plenty of sauce to enjoy too
My Mother & Father in Law both ordered the Fillet Steak and I enjoyed a beef dish from the specials, Mrs K ordered wild mushroom ravioli with a creamy wine garlic sauce. She said it was the best dish she has ever had which is quite some compliment given the amount of times we eat out.
My beef was so tender I think I could have eaten it with a spoon and the gravy that came with it really complimented the dish.
The steaks were great and the sides that accompanied it were sumptuous too
We were all too full to even think of a dessert but we really enjoyed our dinners and we would definitely recommend this Restaurant to anyone!
Remember book early to avoid disappointment!

Just had one of the best meals that we have had for a long time, up there with the Punchbowl at Crossthwaite. Everything was right, the decor, the ambience, the staff, and the food was sublime. Delicious fish with crispy skin, fab starter and ace desert. We did not want the evening to end. Fabulous. Thank you xx
