The Lamplighter Dining Rooms - Windermere - Photo album

This small inn is located close to the train station on a quiet street. The rooms are quite lovely, decorated with warmth, care and authenticity. The dining room is equally attractive and comfortable. Our included breakfast was delicious and ample. The proprietor is warm, friendly and very helpful w
Great little dinner spot. Pleasant atmosphere for a lovely pub meal that’s unpretentious. We didn’t book a table and we’re quickly seated as walk-ins on a Saturday night. The lamb special was absolutely melt in your mouth and the fish and chips was delicious. Staff were great and friendly.
Myself and my husband stayed here for a long weekend this month and had a wonderful experience. We arrived at the hotel an hour early and were able to park and check in early with no problem. We had a standard room but the bedroom was very comfortable, fresh linen and towels, complementary tea, coff
We have stayed at The Lamplighter several times which says it all really. Always made to feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely, well appointed rooms. Fantastic food. Great ambience. Perfect location. Staff are obviously well trained, professional and always very obliging. Special me
We tend to struggle going anywhere for Sunday Lunch because Mrs K does such a fantastic one I always leave disappointed! However that certainly was not the case here! We dined in the bar area because we had our very well behaved Dog with us (we did check this when we booked) The bar area was beauti
Well located, fair rooms, good restarant, parking on site, pet friendly... has a lot of things going for it! Just note the somewhat unusual 11am check-out time and they tend to get rather snippy with you if you are even 5 seconds late, in fact, expect a knock on your door 15 seconds before the clock
Excellent food and service. We ate in both the casual bar room and main dining room and both meals were fantastic. I’d pay to have a restaurant of this quality near me in central London. Some of the best fish we’ve had in this country. The soups were also excellent, as was the extensive wine lis
Roast dinner was awesome!! No complains with the food at all. The veg and potatoes came out on their own plate so you could take what you want rather than feeling over faced. Very tasty food, staff where very friendly.
My Father, Son and I had dinner here last night. The greeting from the Front of House staff was warm and welcoming. The overall presentation of the dining rooms were nice with the usual white table cloth and silverware presentation. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. To start, we shared a w
Great food, great staff and a lovely looking place. We popped in for dinner this evening as we'd just arrived and were pleasantly greeted and shown to a table. Very clean looking and well organised, the tables were comfortably spaced apart and the vibe was relaxed and comfortable. I had the pork l
Really great place that welcomed doggies. Out dear dog didn't get her dog treats though 😕. The dinner was wonderful. Perfect amount for our size party. My fave was the honey roasted carrots. Delicious 😋.
We had a big party of 20 meeting relatives in Windermere and were effectively given a private room with a bar at the rear of the restaurant. We had pre ordered our meals and both our waitresses tended to our needs and services with exceptional attention. My son wanted bbq sauce, which they didn't
We didn't end up eating here as it was fully booked, but we stayed for a few drinks and relaxed a little. Very nice, clean environment, and somewhere you could feel comfortable taking your partner.
This is a fantastic bar - it’s old and traditional. The staff have been really attentive even when we had a group of 14 men arrive for a meal. A really positive experience and we’ve all said we’d come back again. Amusing thing, there’s a fire escape in the gents loos which takes you into the high s
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for his birthday and had the best time. We personally loved the food! I have celiac and they have were so good at making sure I ate safe, the gluten free bread they had was actually really nice. We didn’t realise till the second day the breakfast was included (I think
Very much enjoyed a Sunday lunch here.Service was fast, helpful and friendly. A glass of wine each and an excellent roast dinner later we were well satisfied with our experience. The dining area is lovely and the seating comfortable. We would definitely go again. Cost was just over £50 for the bo
