Stopped in for lunch here today, and from the start we were very impressed with the attentive service. The drinks came out quickly and the food followed a short time later. The meals were not cheap, but definitely of a very high standard - deliciously tasty. Also some of the best chips I’ve had so far in the UK

We last came here 7 years ago when it was called the lighthouse! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were amazing!! The staff were so friendly. The portions are what you pay for. The quality of the ingredients used is what you pay for. If your looking for quick microwave meals....Brown Sugar isn't for you!! If you appreciate good food then get yourself over to Brown Sugar and make it one of the places to eat whilst in Windermere!!

I was surprised by this restaurant that the food is nice and delicious. The carbonara is creamy, and it tastes fabulous. The BBQ ribs are filled with the flavour of barbecue sauce. That was impressive. The staff are nice and helpful. I and my friend enjoyed a great time there.

Good service, good atmosphere. Food was tasty, ordered a scone, soup, waffle and wedges. Prices are ridiculously high, hence the starter desert-type choices. All these choices were really enjoyable however, especially the scone, which was surprisingly quite fresh. Not the type of place youd expect it to be good. Get it with the jam and cream.

Great place for a coffee with your furry friends. Friendly staff, very helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. Reasonably priced - would visit again.

Great location Lovely place to stop for a bite to eat. Very quirky! Highly recommend. Dog friendly downstairs and on the patio. Food was delicious and portions bigger than expected.

A restaurant with a very nice sense of atmosphere and a great assortment of food. The young lady who was not sure if she was the owner or a waitress was very friendly! The waiter even helped my aunt carry my suitcase upstairs. Much appreciated! The restaurant also offers online ordering for travelers who need a translator. The pizza was very good except for the bacon and diced meat which was a little salty.

Had a delicious meal here last night, food and service were amazing, after diner I ordered a bathtub martini which came with a little rubber duck, I asked if he could come with me and today we went o a great adventure🤣

Love this place a lot. The staff is very friendly and polite. I love crispy waffles the most, it’s taste really good. Highly recommend!!

PROBLEMS WITH MARK

Possibly the best coffee I've ever had! I stopped in here for breakfast while my car was on charge and ended up taking another coffee to go as it was so nice. I would say the only thing that let it down was having to listen to the very loud bar staff talk about their personal issues, not something I want to hear while eating my English fry up! But other than that, it was a very nice environment and they also let dogs in too.

We had a very pleasant experience having our late lunch here. We sat upstairs outside on the terrace. Which was lovely when the sun was shining. The overall feel of the place was friendly and welcoming. Nicely decorated, quirky and modern. Our server was very nice, friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu is a must try! The food menu is something to behold! Quite extensive with a twist on some classics and some great original ideas! We were far from disappointed with our meals and portion sizes. Our only very small niggle was, that was way to much seasoned salt on the chips. Other than that we had a great dining experience and will certainly return in the future.

Food was good, a little pricey but you get a massive amount. We had the monster dog, the board it came on was a bit crowded, needed more onions and mayo, onion rings were great as were the chips. Staff seemed a little hurried but overall it was good

We had a very decent meal at this cafe, the taste was lovely, but the reason it gets 4/5 stars is due to the very obvious carelessness of the chefs. We ordered a chicken liver parfait; the presentation and flavour were spot on, however, we got served burnt brioche to go with it. The fact that the chef looked at that piece of bread and thought it would be okay to serve is a bit bizarre to me, especially when it’s not the cheapest dish. The smoothies were served in plastic cups, for a sit in meal, it would have been obvious to serve it in glass. Overall verdict is that the food was delicious, the staff lovely, but a little bit more effort goes a long way. I wanted to give 3 stars but the food saved the rating. If we’re ever in Windemere again, we will definitely visit your establishment , and hopefully won’t get any burnt bread this time.

Incredible food, enormous portions, cocktails are generous and absolutely delicious. Staff are attentive, polite, lovely people. Went almost daily, will be going back next year for sure. Their fish and chips is more than big enough for two people!!

Great menu options, delicious food, good cocktails, friendly and attentive service. The 2 ladies were working really well to make sure everyone was greeted and well looked after. Carbonara was delicious, as were my friends pizza and hanging kebabs. Will be back.

Only stopped for a drink so didn’t sample the food. Menu looked reasonable for the area. Staff were pleasant, it’s table service or you can use a QR code but if you are outside it can be difficult to get their attention.
