Stopped in for lunch here today, and from the start we were very impressed with the attentive service.
The drinks came out quickly and the food followed a short time later. The meals were not cheap, but definitely of a very high standard - deliciously tasty. Also some of the best chips I’ve had so far in the UK
We last came here 7 years ago when it was called the lighthouse! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were amazing!! The staff were so friendly. The portions are what you pay for. The quality of the ingredients used is what you pay for. If your looking for quick microwave meals....Brown Sugar isn't for you!! If you appreciate good food then get yourself over to Brown Sugar and make it one of the places to eat whilst in Windermere!!
I was surprised by this restaurant that the food is nice and delicious. The carbonara is creamy, and it tastes fabulous. The BBQ ribs are filled with the flavour of barbecue sauce. That was impressive. The staff are nice and helpful. I and my friend enjoyed a great time there.
Good service, good atmosphere. Food was tasty, ordered a scone, soup, waffle and wedges. Prices are ridiculously high, hence the starter desert-type choices. All these choices were really enjoyable however, especially the scone, which was surprisingly quite fresh. Not the type of place youd expect it to be good. Get it with the jam and cream.
Great place for a coffee with your furry friends. Friendly staff, very helpful. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. Reasonably priced - would visit again.

A restaurant with a very nice sense of atmosphere and a great assortment of food. The young lady who was not sure if she was the owner or a waitress was very friendly! The waiter even helped my aunt carry my suitcase upstairs. Much appreciated!
The restaurant also offers online ordering for travelers who need a translator.
The pizza was very good except for the bacon and diced meat which was a little salty.
Had a delicious meal here last night, food and service were amazing, after diner I ordered a bathtub martini which came with a little rubber duck, I asked if he could come with me and today we went o a great adventure🤣
Love this place a lot. The staff is very friendly and polite. I love crispy waffles the most, it’s taste really good. Highly recommend!!
Possibly the best coffee I've ever had! I stopped in here for breakfast while my car was on charge and ended up taking another coffee to go as it was so nice. I would say the only thing that let it down was having to listen to the very loud bar staff talk about their personal issues, not something I want to hear while eating my English fry up! But other than that, it was a very nice environment and they also let dogs in too.
