Great freshly cooked burger decent prices and nice atmosphere. worth using for food in the area. i was passing on the way back after a bike ride. toilets are next door and the marina sitting area is nice. there is a covered seating area too if needed. overall something a bit different which is nice to see and a local business worth supporting in the age of cafe chains

Simple comfort food and snacks, amazing value for money. Vegetarian options available and the staff are just so upbeat and inviting! This little shack feels so homey and a welcomed treat after being out on the water.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Fairly priced food. Could do with a bit of a spruce up around the seating areas. Two burgers quickly made and both very tasty thank you. Would happily return to this little cafe. Put this in to some context. 2 burgers and 2 cokes here were a lot less money than it costs for 2 ice creams at the lakeside area. We like to support local independent places where we can and Dan's shack is most definitely worth a visit

A little gem in a beautiful location, called in for a coffee and a burger. Food and drinks were excellent, staff were friendly and polite, prices very reasonable. Had to wait for a few minutes as they were busy, this gave me a chance to relax in their quaint seating area. Would highly recommend.

I had the cheese burger with plenty of onions,spot on,prices are very reasonable considering it's the lake District.
Stopped off at Dan's shack again this year, still good.😊

We didn't eat here ,we bought hot drinks ,decaf coffee with oat milk ! Plenty of seating with great views .Friendly service

Found this place on Google maps and it had great reviews, so we paid it a visit for lunch. Had to pay to park the car which was a bummer, but grub was lovely. Wife was hungry and had two toasted cheese sarnies and I had the best bacon bap in ages .

Lovely friendly welcome, snacks for the pooches, and a decent hot chocolate to warm us up on the walk back

Absolutely love this place. Been coming here for years and it never lets us down. Lovely staff, amazing food and really handy to the lake. Honestly one of the best food stops in Windermere/Bowness!

Great little cafe by the lake. Very pleasant staff and good food at reasonable prices. The local Robins came and ate from our hands!

Popped in Dan's shack for shelter as the heavens opened. They were very friendly and the food prices looked great. 👍 going by the good reviews, this place is worth a visit!

We'd been out kayaking on the lake for my YouTube channel More Than Just a Cleaner, and fancied a bite when we got back. Decent burgers and beverages at a reasonable price 👍😁

The snacks are simple yet tasty and somewhat reminds me of home. The service was friendly and welcoming. The place is perfect for both tourists and locals who are looking for a quick stop.

Great food in Dan's shack. Made fresh to order. We walked down to he lake and had amazing views while eating our food.

Dan's shack is the best place for coffee and a light bite around Bowness. It's away from the crowds, has great seating options and great coffee. Nice to sit here and have the birds visit for crumbs, exceptionally tame, and listen to the wind in the yacht rigging behind. Still the absolute best place in bowness for a coffee and a toastie,both perfect and served by great staff. £5.50 for a coffee and a toastie.

Stopped by during a bike ride and was very popular. The cake was delicious and the coffee was great and also good value considering the area. I'd stop by again and try other food items out.

Cool place to grab an ice cream, cake or drink. Very helpful staff. Burgers smelt amazing and I wish I'd not already eaten (definitely have one next time)😋
