The Old Star

I like this bar. Would definitely use it if I lived locally. Unfortunately to far to use on a regular basis, but definitely recommended. Very nice spacious outside area. Seems to have TVs everywhere, (even in the Gents) so I am assuming it would be a great meeting place to watch sports. If it has a downside, it can get really noisy inside making it difficult to pick up a conversation if you have any sort of hearing disability. I DIDNT EAT THERE SO CANNOT COMMENT ON THE FOOD.

Excellent experience of a night at the Old Star at Windford. Only my second time there but would definitely return if I lived closer. Great atmosphere, Good outside area to get away from the "pub noise", as it was quite full last night (Friday) mostly due to a private party that was on. We were only there to drink, I don't think they serve food after 4.00p.m. The only negative for me, but it is a big one, are the metal urinals in the men's toilets. It is absolutely impossible to avoid splashback from these and are a particular hate of mine.

I visited briefly on a busy Saturday night. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the bar area (always a sign of a licensee who 'gets it'). The bar was well stocked & I was served promptly by friendly staff at a realistic price. The pub was encouragingly busy and clearly popular, just how it should be! Live entertainment was good, supplied by a female vocalist. I ventured outside, great open and covered seating complimented the interior. The view of the fields behind the pub was great, complimented at dusk by some inquisitive young cattle. I had a chat with some friendly older guys (like me) before leaving. It's really encouraging to visit a busy pub like this in these challenging times, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
