We've been coming to this pub for 20 years and it never fails to deliver. The atmosphere is so welcoming, the dogs always made a fuss of and the food is exceptional. Yes when they are busy (as it has been over Christmas/New Year) the food can take time to come but the staff always explain the waiting time when it is ordered and often it arrives sooner than their conservative estimate. Can't rate it highly enough and hopefully we will continue to enjoy their hospitality for another 20 years.

We have just returned from a fabulous time in Winterton on sea, we visit the fisherman's return regularly and have no reason to complain at all, the welcome and atmosphere is always excellent and the food amazing which has improved lately if that was possible as i believe there is a new chef. Great to see Max back behind the bar. All the barstaff make you feel like a local. It's a shame that not everyone gets this place, if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy good food and good company then please visit and see for yourself. If you prefer to have cheap pub grub in a soul less pub then please visit Hemsby as this is not the place for you. We highly recommend as usual and will continue to do so.

Only went for a few pints when on holiday. Staff were pleasant, and tĥe place was clean. The food looked good and looked good portions. I had planned to go for a meal, but there was a change of circumstances.

Tried this pub during our stay in winter on sea. Food and service was excellent. Very dog friendly. During height of season especially I would say book a table in advance as was very busy the night we were there. That said they have a large amount of tables and can cater for large groups. A definite recommendation for somewhere to eat or even just a drink as lots of tables outside for the sunny afternoons

Stayed at a Air bnb down the Rd and this was in walking distance. Lovely friendly environment. We had food and it was delicious. Highly recommended

Great pub in the heart of Winterton. We sat outside as it was a beautiful, sunny day and we had the dogs. There were bowls of fresh water for the dogs and a shady area to keep out of direct sun. Prices were reasonable too

Nice local pub with parking, plenty of seats and tables inside, can only book a table for 10 people or more . Food is good large portions but on the expensive side. Nice atmosphere and they except well behaved dogs. They do have rooms available in the pub and two small apartments outside.

I don't normally give five stars as it gives a place something to aspire to but seriously: Dogs welcome. They are everywhere. Absolutely love them. The beer is awesome and quickly served from bar. The food we ordered using the app. Ten minutes to the table and it was fresh. All in all a lovely experience and lovely food and drink. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect English pub and restaurant for every age. Old man's cozy drinking pub with friendly service in the front old building and larger family restaurant with good seaside pub grub in the new extension at the back. Nice view of thatched cottages from the front garden too. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

We actually stayed at a cottage a stone's throw away from the Fishermans return so can only comment on the food/drinks. The choice of beer on offer was ok and poured to perfection with a range of local ales/cider. The bar area is small/cosy and there's a larger dinning area to the rear with a salad bar plus seating at the front for those warmer days. I should also mention it's a dog friendly pub with bowls and a water tap at the front. We had food on two occasions and the meals were delicious and ample. Would definitely visit again next year when we return to Norfolk.

A really lovely pub that was less than 5 min walk from our cottage in Winterton & couldn't recommend it enough! Great drink selection & wonderful food & great for us that it's very dog friendly.
