The Golden Haddock is a good traditional fish and chip shop. The fish and chips are cooked the traditional way in beef dripping, which gives a much better taste than other oils. The patties are very nice. i would prefer a little more herbs, but that's a minor point. They have all the other things you expect in a chip shop curry, gravy, mushy peas, sausages spam fritters, etc. The staff are very friendly the service is quick. Highly recommended.

We just popped in for a Large haddock and chips and a potion of chips with curry sauce.
Service was very quick and professional with a smile.
It was cooked to order but waiting time was minimal š

I last went to the Golden Haddock in the 80s when my nan had a caravan in withernsea. I havenāt been since, but I have absolutely no doubt that, as it was then, it is the greatest fish and chip restaurant in the country. The memories I have of that place will live with me forever and Iām so pleased to see queues a mile up the road still. Speaks volumes. You will never be disappointed.

There is a good choice of chippies in Withernsea, so I asked a lady in The Spread Eagle pub for recommendations & these guys were mentioned, so we visited them to buy dinner one evening.
Great welcome, a basic menu & simple pricing and as they were quiet our fish was cooked to order.

I live in Withernsea and consider this the best quality fish and chips in the area. Good service, decent portions and quality food. The menu is not huge and as the name suggests, haddock is the only fish available. Good hygiene rating of 5/5. Recommended.

We went to the deep at Hull for my wifeās 58th birthday come out of there and fancied some fish and chip from coast so we decided to drive to Withernsea and get some and wow!! It was worth the drive and effort lovely fresh fish nice chips and a nice size piece of fish no complaints from either of us

Great haddock and chips, freshly cooked, crispy batter. No large fish when we visited but the medium were good enough.
Then only a 2-3 minute stroll to the seafront to eat them! Recommended.

Stopped in here on Sunday evening because we were starving on the way home to Manchester, ordered fish chips curry and peasā¦ have to say it was probably one of THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS IāVE EVER EATEN!!! Chips were cooked perfectly nice and soft but crispy on outside. The fish was flakey delicious heaven!! Curry sauce was moreish and peas were perfect consistency! Staff were kind and friendly!! Wish it was closer to home so I could eat there again!

Heard on Humberside Radio the Norwegians were cutting us off from our Haddock supply, so called into Withensea, and ordered large haddock and chips, the HADDOCK was nearly foot long, got home , and enjoying my chippy tea šµ , excellent traditional fish Nd chipps

This is the very best chippie in Withernsea and we have a few, none are better, gorgeous fish chips peas, home made I call them fish cakes fish in between two slices of potatoes battered fried like I use to have as a kid 60 years ago, we are lucky to have this family run fish and chip shop in Withernsea. š ā¤ļø š

Nice, chippy by seaside in Withernsea. Its one of the better ones I've tried over the years. Portion sizes were good, we only got medium fish and was more tha. Enough. Staff were friendly enough, maybe smile more but otherwise can't fault the place.
