The Golden Haddock is a good traditional fish and chip shop. The fish and chips are cooked the traditional way in beef dripping, which gives a much better taste than other oils. The patties are very nice. i would prefer a little more herbs, but that's a minor point. They have all the other things you expect in a chip shop curry, gravy, mushy peas, sausages spam fritters, etc. The staff are very friendly the service is quick. Highly recommended.

There is a good choice of chippies in Withernsea, so I asked a lady in The Spread Eagle pub for recommendations & these guys were mentioned, so we visited them to buy dinner one evening.
Great welcome, a basic menu & simple pricing and as they were quiet our fish was cooked to order.

I last went to the Golden Haddock in the 80s when my nan had a caravan in withernsea. I haven’t been since, but I have absolutely no doubt that, as it was then, it is the greatest fish and chip restaurant in the country. The memories I have of that place will live with me forever and I’m so pleased to see queues a mile up the road still. Speaks volumes. You will never be disappointed.

We just popped in for a Large haddock and chips and a potion of chips with curry sauce.
Service was very quick and professional with a smile.
It was cooked to order but waiting time was minimal 😀
The haddock and chips were delicious 😋
Nice clean shop and will definitely remember to use again when in the area.

This is the very best chippie in Withernsea and we have a few, none are better, gorgeous fish chips peas, home made I call them fish cakes fish in between two slices of potatoes battered fried like I use to have as a kid 60 years ago, we are lucky to have this family run fish and chip shop in Withernsea. 💙 ❤️ 💙

Nice, chippy by seaside in Withernsea. Its one of the better ones I've tried over the years. Portion sizes were good, we only got medium fish and was more tha. Enough. Staff were friendly enough, maybe smile more but otherwise can't fault the place.
