Now, it's not every day that I find myself in a Bedfordshire village, along with a couple of chums and anxious for lunch.
If this ever happens to you, and you don't want to go too far from the M1, the Fir Tree Inn could be the answer to your prayers.
The words, "Classic Pub Food" on a menu are usually a warning, but not here.
If you want bangers and mash revisualised, with the mash perfect and the bangers, sourced from a local farmer's pigs, better than you've ever had in a pub, this is THE place.
Sorry to rant, but perfection when you don't expect it deserves ranting galore!!

We celebrated our sons 21st birthday here and it was perfect. Everyone had a great time. The staff are so friendly, helpful and thoughtful too. Great pub!

Great singer and lovely atmosphere. Beer is nice but you need to book on the weekend (not unreasonable at all, shows its popular) so will try the food next time.

Very welcoming staff who had no problems with us bringing our dogs in with us and providing them with water. The meal was wonderful, home cooked roast beef with all the trimmings and PROPER gravy! I will definitely be eating there again and would have no hesitation in recommending it

Really nice pub with friendly staff and garden looks great. We had breakfast which was really nice especially the eggs and the flat white was very good! Will be back.

This is a great pub/restaurant with good home cooked food. Not pretentious with a lovely atmosphere. It’s a place where myself, as an older lady, feels comfortable going in alone. Great for coffee and home made cake too. Really nice staff!!
