Me and my family went to the pub for my daughters birthday! We couldn’t have experienced a better dinner! Everything was cooked to perfection! And the chef Jake even catered to my daughters difficult dietary needs, without any questions asked! He even brought out a birthday desert for her! And the team sang her happy birthday! We felt very welcome and very good value for money! And a proper homey feel! Definitely will be returning! Jake made us feel very at ease with my daughter’s difficulties, and even came and checked on us multiple times during our meal!

Was pleasant to revisit the Pub here in Wokingham after 7 years. Staff friendly. Food was clean and reasonably priced. Will return again in the future.

Me and my partner popped in this evening for a drink the pub was busy but we where greated with a warm welcome by Sophie who who survived us drinks and asked if we would like to eat. After 5 minutes of being there we sat a table and ordered food and it was great. Jake the chef did a brilliant job. The service was brilliant and over all great evening see you again soon

Nice enough boozer, lovely warm welcome. Some very nice beers. A bit odd though, sitting in the garden under a fixed shaded area, the outside heater kept coming on for a few seconds and then going off.
All in all well worth a visit 👍

Had a lovely lunch here consisting of chicken sliders and fries. The food was nice and the service was prompt.
The staff were friendly and made me and my partner feel welcome and we had our dog too who was also welcomed.
We shall be returning in the evening for a proper meal soon.

Lovely pub on the outskirts of Wokingham.
Staff very welcoming and friendly.
Good food and quick service. (We had Mac and cheese and the bacon and blue burger). It was cooked well and the portion sizes were just right.
Could use a refurbishment, but not the fault of the staff, who really were lovely.
We will visit again.

Attended with the family for my parents anniversary, very good food cooked well and not overdone as is often the case with pub food, staff were very attentive and accomodated all requests without issue. Very freindly atmosphere and good choice of inside and outside eating areas.

I had lunch today at the Two Poplars.
It was only my second visit and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
The food was excellent, the best fries anywhere!
Service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
The manager Tom was helping everywhere, chatting with the customers and there was a lovely rapport between him and his staff....lots of laughter.
I would certainly visit again.

Feel like this pub is improving since the new manager took over. Staff are more friendly, the food is good and the place looks much cleaner! It's also dog friendly which is a plus and lots of parking.

Highly recommend it! First time out as a group for 18 months! Great services, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere! It was my first time, but not the last.
Ample parking, ample space for social distancing (if you wish) and just a great service all around. Oh and AFFORDABLE prices (which is quite rare post pandemic).

Kev and emma were superstars although emma was ill she still tried her best and had wonderful attitude and service, naomi was so welcoming and cheerful, clearly cared for everyone and proud of what she does. Couldnt ask for bettter service and really made my day many thanks to the staff, I’ll definitely be returning for another wonderful time

Such a shame that today's experience has put me off. We have had so many great meals here but clearly they can't handle the pressure of Sunday lunch time. Not only were we waiting nearly an hour for our food but when it did arrive... well disappointed is an understatement. My adults mac and cheese portion was so small it wouldn't satisfy a toddler, my husbands chips were bordering on raw and my daughters pizza was so over cooked it required a steak knife to cut it and was burnt to a point she wouldn't eat it. As I say its a shame as the pub is usually a favourite of ours.

Haven’t been here for a couple of years & wow! What a transformation! Very warm, happy, family pub. Good food. Great staff! Just a lovely ambience! Had a chat with the manager at the end of the evening - such a nice guy! Just wish we had a pub like this in Tilehurst where we live. Fully recommend 😊

Visited for the 1st time last night for our anniversary , lovely friendly staff loved everything right down to the little touches of the cushions and a basket of blankets by the door candles on tables great atmosphere highly recommend will be visiting again , loved the fact we can even bring our 2 dogs with us

We held my Dad's 60th birthday party here. It was amazing. Jen and all the staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and all their effort and special touches , including the live music added a bonus to a fantastic night. Will definitely be using the Two Poplars for future events.

Took my family to the Two Poplars for a Mother's Day lunch. The food and service was excellent. Table of 9 and no one had any complaints, in fact the 18 oz rumps were as good as you would get in a steak house at a fraction of the price.

Whilst the waiting staff were polite, the food, I have to say, is very below standard. Our occasion was my sister in law's 70th birthday and the table for 11 had been booked in advance. I appreciate when a table order is mixed i.e. some roast lunches and some others, it was a long wait. The restaurant at that point was not at anywhere near capacity. When the meals finally arrived the roast lunches looked as though someone had piled pieces of black lava rock on the plates. The roast potatoes and the stuffing balls were black but 2 lunches were worse than the others. Time constraints for some of the party meant we could not really re order all the meals. I could only eat the inside of one potato. One meal was replaced which meant that person was eating after everyone else had finished and while desserts were being ordered. Attention was quickly drawn to the condition of the meals to the waiting staff but apparently the manager did not feel inclined to come and see us. Some desserts were ordered including an apple crumble with custard. A comment was made by the recipient saying it felt a bit cold whereupon my niece looked at it further only to find it still frozen inside, at which point to be honest we all gave up. My brother (the host) discussed the bill with a member of staff and some arrangement was reached but this in no way compensated for the disaster of the meal. Had we all re ordered meals we would have been there way into the afternoon. Personally I would not want to visit this restaurant again. I have to give a rating to post this review so have given one star - it really was totally unacceptable.
