Chalk Restaurant

Even 5* doesn't do justice to this place. Its beyond amazing, the BEST place to eat in Wokingham. My husband and I love gourmet and after years of going to cote across the road, we decided to change to chalk. We haven't looked back, the food is exceptional, drinks are varied and most of all it's service with a smile. Waiters aren't rushing around chasing their tail like in most places! Here everyone is calm,even during peak times making a pleasant dining experience. The decor, lighting and ambience is so romantic, puts you in a holiday mode. We've booked some wine tasting events and cannot wait!

I can't recommend Chalk more highly! The food is incredible. Make sure you save some space for one of their yummy puddings. I have an allium allergy (onion, garlic, spring onion, shallots and chives, etc) and I know that this is a really difficult allergy for a restaurant to accommodate, but I have now eaten at Chalk 3 times and the chef has been able to adapt 3 different items on the menu to accommodate my allergy and all 3 meals have been full of flavour (which is usually the compromise when I eat out, I'm offered anything plain). The attitude towards my allergy at Chalk has always been so friendly and reassuring and I have never been made to feel 'difficult', which can happen in other restaurants. The staff are fantastic - attentive and thoughtful. Chalk has quickly become my go to place to have a really good quality, tasty meal, whilst catching up with my friends.

Not eaten here in the evening, we had a table out the back in the gazebo and actually it was perfect. A great welcome, the food and service from Ben and team were fantastic. One slight issue with the espresso martinis, but this was rectified without a problem. A great place, we’ll definitely be returning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stellar breakfast experience! The staff here radiates warmth and hospitality, always going above and beyond to ensure patrons are comfortable. Being a finicky eater, I was pleasantly surprised by their willingness to customize my breakfast to suit my preferences. The Manager's professionalism stands out – his keen memory of regulars' orders speaks volumes about the care and attention paid to every detail. This gem of a restaurant is our newfound favorite, and it comes with our highest recommendation. Truly a delightful place to start the day!

Management and staff go out of their way to an accommodate. I asked to sit outside even though possibly rain and though they were not open to outside they let me. Sunday roast is unbeatable. Lunch and other dinner delicious and price is as good as any local pub. But here you are well looked after. Lovely surroundings, staff and service. Prices compared to what you are served is more than worth it. Unmatched. I’m a regular.
