A gorgeous pub, beautifully done. They've nailed the food, cocktails and decor - which isn’t easy to do all 3. Would highly recommend their fish and chips and their banana daiquiri! Lovely atmosphere, especially when there’s live music. 10/10 all round :)

First visit since it’s reopened as the Foundry Bell. Great atmosphere and good furniture layout. I used it for a business lunch and was a relaxing environment to be able to talk in without lots of noise or distractions. Shame there is no tab facility, submitting 5/6 receipts for one lunch is frustrating and quite outdated. Food looked great, although the seasoning was quite over powering (lots of salt! And a bit greasy) Pet friendly, lots of dogs in there - all well behaved. I thinks it’s a great place for an informal drink with family and friends - maybe a mid morning or afternoon coffee business meeting but it’s not a business lunch venue for me based on no tab facility, food was a bit disappointing for both me and my client, frequently no one behind the bar to order from and seemed an effort to serve.

A very pleasant experience. The decor was well designed with comfort and sophistication in mind. The menu is full of great options for vegans which was a plus. I enjoyed the non alcoholic cocktails 🍸.

Perfect for a lunch stop over after vising Grays's Farm for a day of PYO. We sat outside which has a selection of shady plus full sun options. We took an umbrella table. Their veggie sharing platter has loads to chose from, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh pesto. Mains was good too and prepared fresh. Bit pricy but loved the overall ambience so 5 stars overall.

Where do you start when you're planning a surprise lunch for your Grandma's 90th Birthday ... having weighed up numerous Hotels and Restaurants ... thankfully and gratefully someone recommended The Foundry Bell to me!! From the moment I made contact via an enquiry form, they have been simply fantastic, Holly answered my initial questions and subsequent ones when amending numbers, checking if there was a children's menu, if we could bring balloons and a cake, never once was I made to feel like I was being a nuisance. A great appointment site allowed me to log in, make the deposit payment, amend numbers and review everything. Then the big day arrived yesterday, I had spoken with Holly and she said it was ok to deliver the balloons early so that they were in place for our arrival. I was met when I arrived by Abi and Gwen who were really lovely and knew of the booking. Holly wasn't in but behind the scenes Holly had fully briefed Gwen. They helped me with the balloons, showed me where our table would be in the private area in the restaurant and showed a real interest in the day's proceedings ... this settled my nerves a lot and allowed excitement to kick in!! From the moment we walked in with my Grandma we were made to feel very welcomed by Abi and she did a fantastic job at pretending to have never met me before ... Abi led my Grandma to the dining area and the chorus of "surprise" erupted, once the happy tears had stopped and the welcomes had settled Gwen made a beeline for me to check all was ok and to reassure me that she was there, and I just was just to let her or Abi know if I needed anything. The other front of house team seemed just as excited for Grandma and made a fuss of her and made her feel very special. Naturally, some of the family hadn't met for a while, so Abi was really good in judging enough time to take drinks orders and allowing us the chance to talk for a bit before taking our order, we never felt rushed at any stage. We ordered and my goodness we were not disappointed, the food was beautiful!! It was fresh, well presented, colourful, tasted amazing and showcased the best of British produce. Portion sizes were great for the price, we said that we thought the price was very reasonable and was representative of the quality of the food without being extortionate. As always with hospitality you never get to meet the behind-the-scenes teams, the Chefs, and their kitchen team, but we all said how beautiful the food was and how they clearly have a passion and flare for using fresh ingredients and combining with some exciting flavour combinations. There was not one disappointed person with the food choices they made, even my incredibly food fussy 12yr old loved his!! From the moment we walked in, we were all made to feel incredibly welcomed, nothing was too much trouble, and the staff are an absolute credit to the owners and a lovely touch was when Abi's shift had finished, she could have just left and headed home, but she wanted to come and say Goodbye, check everything had been ok and to wish Grandma a lovely rest of the day. As someone who worked in hospitality for years, I appreciated everything yesterday and whilst it can be a long, hard and at times thankless profession, it can also be incredibly rewarding when you know that your hard work made such a difference and believe me, the Foundry Bell team did that in abundance for us yesterday!! The whole lunch was a very special way to celebrate a wonderful Grandma's 90th Birthday ... I can't thank everyone enough for making yesterday so special, I can't wait to come back again when a little less stressful and secretive!! xx

Visited recently with my mum for lunch. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the place has a lovely ambience, really great refurb. Once seated in the busy resturant we ordered our drinks and food, our waitress was very lovely and helpful, only downfall was I had to ask for a glass of water 3x as she kept forgetting it! But it was busy amd I'm not one to complain about the minor things so wasn't a big deal. The food itself I cannot complain, we ordered a few nibbles off the stix board to start with, it is literally nibbles on stix! So small perhaps for the person that enjoys a filling starter, however so very tasty, the kofta & prawns especially were delicious. For main we had the fish & chips and a burger. When the fish came out we initially thought the fish looked so very overdone, but admittedly once you cut into it it was delicious, soft, melt in the mouth and not atall dry, the batter was really tasty too and not as crispy as it looked, my mum said the chips were lovely too, proper really chunky chips! I had the burger with fries, nothing to complain about it was lovely and didn't leave a thing. Price wise, for 4x stix board, fish & chips, burger & chips, 2 glasses of medium pinot & 1x vodka and tonic the bill was £82, not your average lunch price, but you pay for quality food, I think its with the drinks you get stung, as we moved onto the bar area to wait for my husband to collect us, he popped in for one drink , 3 drinks cost us almost £28! Granted I drink double vodka & tonic which came in at almost £14 on its own, but its still a bit outrageous! Still, we had a lovely afternoon, I couldn't afford to become a regular at those prices, but if you fancy a treat its worth a visit.

I went here for dinner with a friend last night, I ordered a beef burger and three scoops ice cream/sorbet and he ordered the 10oz sirloin and baked Alaska. Everything was presented well on the plates and tasted great, however, part of the meringue on the baked Alaska was burned because our server did not bring spoons straight away. Saying that, the staff were very friendly and the place looked amazing. The prices were high, but well worth the money. Thank you very much.

One of the best roasts we’ve ever had out & suggest you ignore any review that says otherwise. We rarely go out for a roast dinner because they’re always sub-par but this exceeded expectations! We ran out of bread for our starter and they gave use extra (twice!), the bread and butter that was delivered as a pre-starter nibble was 10/10 - I could’ve eaten a pot of the butter! Roast dinner was great, beef and chicken was perfect, crispy potatoes (which are rare for a roast dinner out!), lots of veg & extra gravy!

Had a really nice roast dinner here again after being impressed previously with the roast chicken. Went with the roast beef this time and it came with a great selection of greens and root veg, crispy roast potatoes, huge Yorkshire pudding and a decent rich gravy. Also had cauliflower cheese as a side which was nice and creamy. The pub / restaurant has been decorated really well and to a high standard. Modern contemporary, but not too open plan, so it's never too noisy.
