Review Peggotty's - Wolsingham

That thing where you’re driving home, fancy a coffee and chance upon a place. Then comes the part where you feel that a coffee and maybe a slice of cake will be enough and in you go, whereupon restraint goes out the window and as well as enjoying your coffee and cake you buy things for home, for later of course, but later is sooner, oh well. But why not, with coffee and baked goods as delicious as this (sweet and savory), and the welcome as warm, why wouldn’t you insist that restraint take a break. I thought a list of things to try might help, but gave up, everything we bought was glorious.

I was looking for decent bread...the properly baked artisan product that tastes sublime. Away on a cottage holiday and having looked online, I found Peggottys. I arrived after a hike and wow what a fabulous shop, the layout, the bread ,cheeses, everything. The staff were great. If you like good food and great bread, look them up

Stopped by for some take-away lunch on a long journey home from holiday in the Scottish Borders. Chose this place based on how it looked on Google maps. It had an excellent choice of savoury food, many different delicious cakes / sweet options. Also some quality healthy fruit. Very friendly too. It was about 4 minutes walk from the free long stay car park (where there are some picnic benches) and there were public toilets on that walking route, so all in all it beats stopping at motorway services.

Great food (full English breakfast) and excellent service. The small area with the toy dinosaurs was also fantastic to keep a 3 year old entertained!!

Lovely food and friendly atmosphere. Im new to the area and glad i found this little gem. Owners made me feel welcome with our chats about dogs! Been back a couple of times since and will definitely be bringing friends and family here. Plenty of options and great if you have a sweet tooth as well.

First impressions? Clean and roomy. Pleasant staff and extensive menu. I had the soup of the day - chicken, with white bun. Thick hearty, warming and filling - delicious. He had fish and chips with garden peas, said piping hot and again delicious. His tea was quote "a lovely cuppa" and my orange juice wasn't exactly a small glass like I often get elsewhere. Not sure of the total cost but certainly got change out of £20.00. It's a safe bet we will be back..

I've visited the place twice now, the second time after refurbishment. Good grub at a very reasonable price. Service is fine and the surroundings are pleasant. You can get your takeout butties from the front or sit-in as I did in the dining area. Worth a visit for lunch if you are in the locality.

Lovely homemade food and great friendly service (the staff can't do enough to help) we chose to come here the past few weeks while visiting due to the small play area that entertains my toddler while waiting for our meals to come but today I was disappointed in the fact that I had to change my sons nappy and there were no changing facilities, so this had to be done on the floor in the ladies toilets which was very awkward especially being 7 months pregnant myself! I would have went somewhere else to change him but I was visiting family and don't really know the area. I feel that if you cater for children with meals/play area you should also provide facilities needed for changing. I hope this is constructive feedback and not negative, as I would like to come back but am a little put off now knowing this.
