What a brilliant find this place was! We were staying in Wolverhampton for the evening after watching the football. Thought, let’s find a pub that serves food! Found the desi yew tree on Google and thought, let’s give it a go as it’s only 6 mins away. It was incredible!!! Great friendly service. The sizzler plate was enough for 3 people! So tasty and piping hot.
When we want some Indian food this is our go to place. It's all just too tasty! The lamb chops are a delight, can't have enough of them, and the way the things come sizzling from the kitchen, makes your head turn! If it's just for a drink with friends to watch the football or even to come with the family and have a proper meal, it's good for all occasions. Friendly staff, great experience overall. And will keep coming!
The quality of the food and how it's cooked is what elevates this desi grill. Service is straight forward and the staff are friendly and quick. I had the lamb biryani the chicken wings and a side of fries. The curry sauce that comes with the biryani is very tasty, the fries were good quality and not stodgy and chicken wings were really well seasoned. Been to a few desi pubs and got to admit this one is my favourite now.
Food was absolutely beautiful. The korma was amazing and everything thing on the mixed grill was very nice! I especially loved the fish pakora, so flavourful. Keema naan also good! The man that served us was so nice too, apologised a few times for food being late due to delivery lateness, though it came very quick. Also told us to sit where ever we wanted and turned the TV on for us.
I only put 4 stars because portions were a tad small, but I would just order more next time as the quality of food was amazing.
Always come here for a mixed grill and never once been disappointed! Fantastic value for money and quality food every time!
Lovely amazing keema rice and crispy wings, salt and chilli prawns my husband who only eats fish said they were the best he's ever tasted, fish curry was delicious, my only criticism was that the potatoes would be lovely if like the pic on the menu and dry fried with spices and onions I'm not a fan of sweet sauces, but I won't let it takeaway from the fact everything else was amazing, my new fave place I'd have to say for me it beats the Bradford Arms so 5 stars from me..its a little off the track so I would imagine to find it someone would have to recommend it like they did for us, but I've already told my grown kids and best mate about it.. I would imagine if they spent a few quid on social media and some posts you'd have to book here to get in quite far ahead..
I was too hungry to take a picture of the food but the food was excellent, had the lamb chops to start, packed full of flavour, then went for the vindaloo 👌 being from Birmingham which has some fantastic curry houses this one goes on the list with some of my favourites this is a great find in Wolverhampton, highly recommended!
Nice food, polite staff.
Would be nice to have volume control on the tv's in each booth, but the food was so good even that couldn't take a star off.
First time in the Yew Tree since the lockdown rules have eased.
The team has spent the last 6 months modernising the place, added a first floor and it looks amazing.
Also they’ve updated the menu so it now caters well for vegetarians and vegans

First visit after being recommended to us, very good choice on menu, food arrived swiftly within 20mins, everything was tasty and well presented,not over oily,salt and pepper chicken really good as was the chicken and keema curry, definitely returning
