One of our City's best pubs .Great beers super friendly and you can take your dog! Lovely we will be back
Wonderful pub great people great beer just a great traditional real pub
A pub with two halves, the snug comfortable and cosy, the bar as it has been for years long wooden seats tiled floor awaiting clocking off time. Enjoyed both sides as our second visit we had dogs, who were welcomed with water bowl and treats on the bar. Beer good but sadly out of snacks on our visits. Well worth a visit.
My Partner and I organised her 60th Birthday party at this particular Banks's pub last night (30th July) and I can honestly say we couldn't have picked a better venue. With the help of the Manager Mike, and his team including Olly, Naomi and Ash...Ash helped in the planning leading up to the Party' but as since left unfortunately, we had a Fabulous evening with friends & family. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this Pub, and we've made some lovely friends since we started to frequent here. Just wish I'd have known how nice a Pub it was years ago.
Thanks Guys for a Fantastic time.xx
P.s the cheese cobs are to die for.
Only visit now and again as not local to me. The beer is spot on well kept, service good, sunny day so sat outside with was good. To me this is a proper pub.
Great pub. Staff very friendly. Good atmosphere. Nice little but of history around the place too. Proper pub.

Just need to get some crisps in and it woudl be perfect :)
A lovely local pub, friendly and comfortable, there are no airs or graces - it is a friendly local pub!
24 and 25 June 2021:
Decided to pop into Compton after a bit of a walk along the canal...
Never had been to the Swan when we've moored up at Compton and as it was a lovely day indeed, a pint certainly beckoned!
It looks great and welcoming from the outside and the inside was nicely decorated and spacious too.
Social distancing was maintained with table service necessary and applied.
Nice to see the locals inside enjoying their pub no doubt..
There are lots of outdoors seating and tables with umbrellas as well just in case of rain or too much of the sun...
As an ale drinker, the Old Empire IPA pint was perfectly kept, nicely chilled and deliciously squaffable..the McCoy's cheese and onion crisps were perfect with my pints as well...
A big thank you to Ash and Steph for your amazing cheerful welcome and your smiling service as well, even though you were masked when serving...your eyes smiled broadly still...
Thanks guys and to all the other staff as well...definitely recommend your Swan to all us canal boaters. Will be back again at some point in the future when chugging by on the canal.
Until then, stay safe and take care!
Great pub. Best to go on a Monday when the ales are £2.70 a pint. Over 4 quid every other day and 😭
