Had a decent pint from here. Didn't try the food so can't really comment about that. The service was good from the bar staff and the place is generally kept quite clean. Would like to come back and try the food. Had the Marston's smooth and it was generally quite nice and went down easy.

I broke down near here a few weeks ago and the landlady very kindly let me change my little one in the loos before I'd even ordered anything - no questions asked. When I told her my situation, she welcomed me to stay and let the baby toddle around for as long as we needed. She even gave me my soft drink on the house. It really made our day. Thank you!

Staff were very friendly, drinks were great. Used the function room for an 18th party upstairs, well sized room clean and with a bar (which wasn't being used at the time) plaster was peeling a bit on the ceiling too but it didn't bother me. Toilets were available for us upstairs separate to the ones downstairs which were clean too. Overall quite chuffed

Golden Lion has a fab atmosphere and you are made to feel very welcome in here. The drink selection is great and there is fab viewing for all sports. Didn’t know they also had a function room too x
