This is a standard Vintage Inn pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere and is super dog friendly. Water bowls and snacks available in the dog friendly seating area which unlike other pubs isn't just the bar area, there is a small area of the restaurant that is also dog friendly. (Don't worry if you're not a dog's best friend, the main restaurant area is away from any visiting dogs). The service on my visit was slow and borderline poor, we'd booked a table and arrived slightly early but stood waiting at the bar to be seated for about 10 minutes before a member of staff acknowledged us... It was a fairly busy bank holiday Monday and I put it down to this as when we were seated the staff were very friendly and polite.
In all, you can't go wrong with a Vintage inn, food is top quality and the atmosphere is nice 👍
Absolutely lovely pub. Fires crackling. Lots of well behaved puppos and delicious food. My puppy absolutely loved her first pub experience and had lots of fuss from the staff. Defo will recommend.
My first time visiting the Anchor, which is part of the same group that owns The Vine
at Wombourne and The Mermaid in Wolverhampton. It goes without saying the menu is exactly the same as the other restaurants. The food here was good, and we weren't waiting long for our food at all. A table of 6 people and the food wait was 20 mins. Our table was outside overlooking the canal, which is nice on a sunny day. I feel the portion size is on the small size, hence a 4 star. I could of done with some carrots or something extra But that was my only gripe.
