With out a doubt the best food in Woodstock and the surrounding area. We have visited many times and will continue to as the menu is always changing and exciting. Very knowledgeable staff and always very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone visiting or local.

Fantastic lunch here. Food was great. The 'fish and chips' was amazing. It's not cheap but everything was really nice. You can take dogs and there is outside seating which is also a bonus.

We had a fantastic evening outing here. The service and food were faultless. The food is tapas style and we had everything to share. The Korean chicken was a particular highlight. The chicken was crunchy with a nice amount of heat. The blue cheese dip accompanied well. We also had the gnocchi, pork belly, Vietnamese rolls, squid as well as the triple cooked chips. The food came out nicely spaced, and we still had room for a dessert each - white chocolate cheesecake and creme brulee. All of the food was perfectly cooked, very flavorful and simply delicious. The atmosphere in the dining room was excellent as well. The restaurant was busy, but by no means full. We booked in advance. Highly recommended if in the area

What a gem of a place! Booked for a BH weekend Saturday lunch as a treat after a walk around the Blenheim Palace. We got there a little early when it was very quiet but it soon started to fill in with all guests wanting to sit outside in the lovely courtyard. Staff were so lovely and accommodating, little plates of food looked almost too pretty to eat, they were also tasty and with some surprising flavours. This place is also dog friendly - seems both staff and guests are on the same page here, so our pups got all the attention they wanted, too! Will be returning and introducing more friends and family soon :)

Amazing food and reasonable price considering high quality. Staff were helping in suggesting dishes and lots of drink options.

Lucky enough to have this place within walking distance from home. Quite literally the best place in Woodstock to eat, drink, relax, meet old friends & make new ones, and if people aren’t your thing there’s always a pooch to befriend. The staff are amazing, welcoming and friendly. Also what Jonny and his team create in the kitchen is nothing short of mouthwatering MICHELIN Star level food. Can’t recommend this place enough to anyone looking for all of the above mentioned qualities The Back Lane Tavern, Woodstock is the place to go. 5* ratings aren’t enough.

Food looked really good, but I didn't get to try any, nice selection of beers though! Roast dinner on a su day was around £20 per head

Stopped by here for dinner before leaving the UK. Their modern take on English food was a great bookend to our trip and everything was delicious. We started out with some cheese and sausage—which was very coarsely ground and obviously homemade in a good way. The squash blossoms are a must try and the Korean chicken wings were great albeit more soy garlic than gochujang so keep that in mind. Good selection of ales on offer as well.

I chose this restaurant because I saw in the menu posted here that they serve octopus. but unfortunately when I got there I noticed that you change the menu once every few months. this is not very pleasant because customers like to know exactly what food they will be able to serve when they get there. I chose something else from the menu, the food was good but it comes in very small portions, so I think you might need 3-4 dishes to be ok. but as a piece of advice, I recommend that you go there just for the experience , the restaurant is look nice , not if you are very hungry and want to eat to be full. considering the size of the portions, the prices are not low at all.

Went based on a recommendation and was added straight to our list we'll be recommending to others. As the name suggests, you'll need to seek this place out as your unlikely just to stumble upon it despite it being in the centre of Woodstock. Pub is a tardis of a place with a small, unassuming frontage that presents a small bar upon entering with a good selection of beers and retaining places to just go for a drink without feeling you are imposing upon an eatery. Continue towards the back of pub and it opens into an airy relaxed eating area with a menu specialising in tapas and small treats. We worked our way through a selection of the tapas; humus with flatbread, Dorset crab, Vietnamese spring rolls (superb), Korean chicken wings (a close runner to the prev), green beans, anchovies, iberian salami. Under £80 for 2 with drinks and we probably had one dish more than we really needed to fill us - but it was so good we managed to find room ;-)
