Visited in June and was a bit of a shambles & was untidy. Went back in late August and found that things are much better!
Good selection of Ales ( there was one before), help to carry drinks without asking ( there wasn't even a tray before), garden had been made over, never furniture out front and you can see the ongoing works to improve this lovely village pub. One to keep an eye on, hope it does well
We called in on Friday night and was impressed with the plans for this long neglected pub. Looking forward to the French brasserie type cuisine. Had a chat with the new landlord who explained his plans and was very friendly towards us. Renovation was well underway and a lot had already been completed. Shouldn’t take too long to complete if what we saw was anything to go by. Great to see the landlord had kept it open. Best Wishes et Bonne chance!! Dave and Cendrine.
Only visited at teatime. A real village pub. Not jumping but plenty of locals creating a really nice atmosphere. Ideal for after a busy day holidaying in Kent. Cask beer was good too and it's dog friendly.
Lunch time stop on our cycle. Web site says it serves food, sorry but it doesn't. Beer was good, service great, customers friendly
Great food, great little pub very friendly, and very reasonable price to,. Will go back while in area
Beautiful country setting, staff felt approachable and the overall atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Only a few ales on tap but for a small, out in the sticks, kind of place it was plenty and a good variety. Pool table last time I visited was free to the public, for a casual night out it is great place to go and sometimes you can catch an event too. Decor feels homely with couches in a side room and a lovely open fire burning.
First visit to this lovely friendly pub just a short distance from Dover and Canterbury. There's a huge inglenook fireplace and two comfortable seating areas as well as a quiet secluded garden to the side of the building.
With a choice of popular beers and spirits and an equally popular Sunday lunchtime restaurant this is somewhere to return to soon.
We had a wake there for my father. We were catered for superbly...
A welcoming pub for an enjoyable pint or three. No frills, friendly staff and good beer. Taditional pub atmosphere and locals who will talk to you, a village pub as it should be.
Great local pub. Good prices, pool table and a warm fireplace.
