The Farmers Arms

The Farmers arms is well furnished with a lovely atmosphere. The food was first class, extremely tasty and rather exquisite. Toby the chef is only 25, from our understanding and has a bright future ahead of him with food at this standard and would give Rick Stein a run for his money. Our waiter jack was extremely friendly and made our night perfect. We sat in the extension area in the rear, which is stunningly nice, however a slight draw back was the opening/closing of the door straight into the eating area on a chilly evening.

We really loved eating here this evening for my partner’s birthday. The staff were so accommodating and incredibly friendly. We had our pup with us and made us all feel really welcome. They got Inca a bowl of water without being asked to and even giving her some treats. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Buckthorn tart for pudding which was so tasty and my partner said the fish cake is the best one he’s ever had! We felt well and truly spoilt, thank you :)

A beautiful little gastro pub in the middle of a small village where a friend and I had rented a cottage for the week. Honestly, some of the offerings were above my level (I had to Google to determine what some things are), but opting for the full portion of fish and chips was a great choice! The servers were above and beyond any expectations, the food was delicious, and the price quite reasonable.

We came here but unfortunately they were fully booked for food although they tried extremely hard to fit us in! The staff are amazingly friendly and efficient! I witnessed the staff asking for a person's order while filling a dog bowl of water so the dog drank first! Absolutely would recommend! Just sorry we wasn't efficient enough to book before we turned up! And just to add what an amazingly clean and impressive building it is! Will definitely book next time

We had a lovely experience here as a family on holiday in North Devon. The food was just perfect - bistro-style, with a relaxed atmosphere. This place offers locally sourced, fresh, non-pretentious, hearty food cooked with real care. All the portion sizes are excellent, and the flavours are so delicate. The waiters were so friendly, and no one seemed to be in a rush. It's also pretty reasonably priced for what it is.
