The Marwood

We have dined here this evening and can’t fault a single thing. Food was amazing, I’ve never been a great fan of steak but after this evening I can’t wait to return as it was delicious. The staff are super friendly and the ambience was perfect for my husband, myself and my parents. We booked a table for 5pm as my parents like to eat early and even at that early time there was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. It was very busy when we left at 7pm but with a really lovely buzz about the place. Definitely will be returning very soon.

We went on a Tuesday night when it was pound per ounce for the steak. Both me and my husband had the 8oz and had it cooked medium ,it melted in your mouth. The service was excellent, but it gets very busy . The only thing I didn't like was that the music was too loud and you couldn't have a conversation with the other half. I also went of an afternoon, and it's much better.

First time diners at Ounce after my partner saw their account on Instagram so we chose here for our rare, child free date night. There’s no parking apart from street parking, which wasn’t available when we visited as it was a Saturday evening and it was all occupied. However we were able to park a couple of streets away for free, which was handy. The staff were all really friendly and polite. Our order was taken efficiently and the food arrived quickly. Our starter of scallops was gorgeous. I’m a fan anyway but they were cooked beautifully. We also ordered a chateau briand to share and that was served exactly as we ordered it. The jus that came alongside it was so rich! We ordered a garlic butter alongside it but actually, it really didn’t need it. The steak was beautiful and felt like it was worth every penny. We didn’t stay for dessert as we were so full but it was an absolutely wonderful meal out and we’d love to come back again on a different night.

4 steaks please... We ranged from 8oz to 16oz steaks. I only managed an 8oz, which was just right. But others couldn't make it through, so we were able to take the rest home for snacks the next day. The food was great, but parking was 10mins walk away but took 25mins on way back as stomach was so full lol.
