Great place for a lovely fish and chips. The food is always spot on and warm. Stays warm for a while too which is great when you've got to drive home. I've never had one delivered from here though so can't say much on that.
The staff are polite and keep calm during stressful situations when it does get super busy. Always great when there's a good atmosphere.
There is a minimum card payment of £10 but there is a cash machine in the spar next door so very handy if you just want one cheap meal!
Warndon Fryer was the selection for the third week of our Council of Chips competition, where colleagues battle it out for the best mini fish & chips across Worcester.
£4.39 for mini fish, small sausage, chips and a pot of curry sauce is absolutely excellent value. The food was all cooked fresh to order as there was five of us. The chips were great, the fish was battered well, if a little thick for a few of the office, (although the establishment offers the option to customise your batter as per your preference, we did not take this option in the interest of parity across our review process).
Overall an excellent fish and chip experience, hot, fresh and crunchy in all the right places. A curry sauce to die for, much like Bath Road's consistency, nothing to fault all round.
The one thing we have noticed since establishing the Council of Chips is that no chip shop is adding salt/vinegar to the chips first, the fish seems to absorb most of this essential seasoning, leaving the chips a little on the dry and saltless side. Who will be the first to take up this new tactic of salting the chips before caressing the cod?
We wait with bated breath. Cod bless.
Cannot recommend here enough. On a day where the whole family have tested positive for COVID, we ordered via Just Eat. Part of the order was missing. I called Warndon Fryer directly, and despite it not being their drivers and them not able to deliver, the manager asked one of the staff to make the delivery to us. Thank you all so much!
Our favourite chippy in Worcester, we lived round the corner but have since moved to Droitwich but still come here for a chippy. Card payments only if over £5. There's a few spaces round the front but a small car park round the back near the Warndon Community Centre.
For reference, Reg Chips, Jumbo Sausage, Saveloy and small curry sauce is £5.50.
I cannot fault the place. I went in expecting to have to wait but staff were straight over to me asking if they could help. The chips were sensational and generously portioned. I will certainly be back in the future.
A HUGE vast menu and special offers galore.
I like to leave a balanced review mentioning the positives then touching on any negatives, before summing up with a usually positive round up.
The only thing i dislike about this chippy is that it isn't closer to my house.
Amazing food! Always super quick too. The lady who served me apologised for the wait and I had honestly only been standing there for two minutes. Awesome battered sausages! 😊
Quick service. Tasty fish and chips. No soggy batter and no greasy chips. Highly recommended.
Best chip shop in Worcester. The staff are friendly and polite. The is of good quality and nice and fresh.
Favourite chippy in Worcester, the batter is great, money for value is awesome. Customer service always friendly.
