Travelled from Sheffield as we were told this place was the BEST! It truly was! Little wait for a table as busy but got seated in about 20 minutes. A lovely waitress called Amelia served us, very polite and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Scampi was amazing. Beautiful fish, very light batter. Well worth the money. A very clean and bright restaurant. All in all, a wonderful experience dining here tonight. Thank you guys 😊

Arrived as they opened and boy are we glad, about 30 minutes later the place was heaving and the large car park was full. Seated straight away and served a few minutes later. Haddock was superb, the chips perfect and the curry sauce just right. Our server was wonderful and our food arrived 5 minutes after ordering. Really excellent experience and will definitely be going back. First class.

My first and not last visit here. Fresh, tasty food and plenty of it. I ordered the biggest fish they do and this thing is massive!!! Comes with a side, bread & butter and a pot of tea or coffee. I will be back and bringing the folks with me. Very impressed

Hands down the greatest fish and chips I've ever eaten! It's a great old school fish and chips restaurant doing a true British classic the justice it deserves! We had about a 20min wait to be seated as the queue was out the door when we arrived. Which is testament to its popularity. However considering the length of the queue, it seemed to move quickly. In hindsight... We should have booked, but will know this for next time. The staff were helpful and attentive. I felt that our food took a little too long to arrive, but when it did it was hot fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back again, and fear that it's ruined all other fish and chips for me!

Classic fish and chips. Amazing portions and great selection. We love it here. A bit of a drive from harrogate but it is 100% worth it. Those desserts were so delicious.

Visited today with family and my autistic son, staff were lovely asked to be sat in a quiet area which they let us. Had no problems. Portions are massive for the price! Definitely go hungry! 2 courses for the price is well worth it!!!

This is a 5-star review (no rating for atmosphere as this was a takeaway). I had fishcakes, chips and peas. Wife had chips and fish bites. Son had the Billy Murg Special. And, for good measure, we got scraps, too. Honestly we didn't need to - it felt like they were respawning in the box... those scraps were endless.
No qualms in saying this was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. The fishcakes were yummy - really tasty. Fish bites were huge and tasty, too. Chips were well cooked. We bought for dinner, but ended up saving half to the following day and having dinner (part 2) from the leftovers. And we still didn't finish it all.
Per head, it wouldn't have been cheap for one meal, but we easily had enough for two - and would return without hesitation the next time we're in the area.

The best in Britain we were told and yep - everyone is right. We went early Friday lunchtime and the queues quickly built up as we were dining. We opted for the seniors extravaganza- excellent value, portion sizes more than enough, the fish and chips being the highlight - along with proper old fashioned steepy peas. Our server was so attentive and friendly - he’s a definite asset. Somewhere to definitely go to again and again.

Fantastic fish and chips, well worth the hype!
My friend and I both ordered the appropriately named “Big Un”. The haddock was meaty and covered in the crispiest, lightest batter.
We had plenty left over for the day after too.
Just beware, if you don’t have a booking, you’ll be waiting for around an hour to be seated. The place is heaving and I honestly don’t know how they manage to Steve up so many dishes to so many guests.
